CONNECTIONS *ON SITE VENT CONNECTIONS SITE PREPARATION *MISCELLANEOUS DETAILS IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE IN A PARK, YOUR HOME SITE WILL BE READY OR BE PREPARED FOR YOUR HOME. IF YOU INTEND TO INSTALL YOUR HOME ON YOUR OWN LOT (NOT IN A PARK), SOME SITE PREPARATION WILL BE NECESSARY. ALL DRAINAGE (AT THE INSTALLATION SITE) MUST BE DIVERTED AWAY FROM THE HOME AND MUST SLOPE A MINIMUM OF 1/2" PER FOOT AWAY FROM THE FOUNDATION OR SKIRTING FOR THE FIRST 10'. THE SITE MUST BE GRADED TO PROVIDE FOR STORM RUN-OFF. SPECIAL CARE MUST BE TAKEN WITH THE AREA DIRECTLY BELOW YOUR HOME TO PREVENT WATER FROM PONDING AND/OR PUDDLING UNDER YOUR HOME AND SUPPORTS. IF THE SPACE UNDER THE HOME IS TO BE ENCLOSED WITH SKIRTING OR OTHER MATERIALS, A VAPOR RETARDER (I.E. POLY...) MUST BE INSTALLED TO COVER THE GROUND UNDER THE HOME (SHALL BE 6 MIL. AND ALL SEAMS TO OVERLAP 12" MIN.) REPAIR ANY TEARS OR VOIDS IN THE RETARDER BY PATCHING WITH LIKE MATERIAL, MAINTAINING, A MINIMUM 12" OVERLAP AND SEALING JOINTS WITH DUCT TAPE OR MASTIC. I PIER SUPPORTS MUST BE PLACED ON UNDISTURBED SOIL (ALL GRASS AND ORGANIC MATERIAL MUST BE REMOVED) OR FILL WHICH IS COMPACTED OR FULLY SETTLED (SEE SU-4.1, DETAIL 'A' AND DETAIL 'B'). IN AREAS THAT' ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FROST, PIER SUPPORTS MUST BE BELOW THE FROST LINE. OPTIONAL: PIERS MAY BE PLACED ON CONCRETE RIBBONS 6" X 16" X LENGTH OF HOME MINUS 18", REINFORCED WITH WELDED WIRE MESH. (A.) BLOCKING UNLIKE A STANDARD HOUSE, YOUR MANUFACTURED HOUSE DOES NOT NEED A FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT IT COMPLETELY AROUND ITS PERIMETER. THE STEEL FRAME OR CHASSIS USED FOR TRANSPORTATION ALSO SUPPORTS THE HOME AT ITS HOME SITE. THE STEEL FRAME MUST BE SUPPORTED (SEE SU-01-0003 & 0004) TO PREVENT YOUR HOME FROM SAGGING, AND TO KEEP IT LEVEL. NOTE: ADDITIONAL PIERS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL RIDGE BEAM SUPPORT COLUMNS (EXCEPT AT THE FRAME HEADER), SHEARWALLS, AND AROUND THE PERIMETER OF YOUR HOME. CHECK FOR THE APPROPRIATE DETAILS FOUND IN THIS AND THE SET-UP MANUAL ADDENDUM FOR SPECIFICS FOR EACH TYPE OF ADDITIONAL BLOCKING REQUIRED. SPECIFIC BLOCKING LABELS ARE FOUND ON THE EXTERIOR SIDES OF YOUR HOME. MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF A PIER IS DETERMINED BY THE TYPE OF PIER USED, CHECK THE APPROPRIATE DETAILS FOR THE PROPER CONSTRUCTION OF EACH DIFFERENT TYPE OF PIER.
