GENERAL NOTES
• If any clarification of drawings is required or any discrepancies are noticed by the
general contractor or his subs during the bidding process, they shall bring them to the
attention of the Architect for clarification.
* Termite treatmant: Prior to placement of any concrete for slabs or footings, the soil under
said concrete shall be treated for termites to a distance of 5'0" beyond the edge of the
concrete. The treatment shall be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's recomend-
stions and procaedures. Immediately after this process, the vapor barrier must be in place.
Soilr-M-a soil under building area shall be compacted to a minimum 95% compaction.
PavingtDriveway shall be a 4" cone. reinf. w/ 6x6 10/10 w.w, mesh. Provide sawcut joints:
Sea site plan for finish.
* Water -proofing of Planters:All planters shall receive a thick layer of trowel applied
hitumantic mambrone on the inside wall, Lind be covered with atx;eL goods prior Lo back
filling.
r, All reinforced steel shall conform to AM spec. A-615 grade A-60.
* All reinforcirtgateal shall be detailed in accordance with the latest addition of the manual
of standard practice for detailing concrete structures, ACI:-315.
All reinforcing rods shall be lapped a minimum of 30 tines the diameter of the bar size.
* All footings and slabs stall rest on clean, well -compacted fill.
All footings have been designed for a soil bearing pressure of 1500 PSF.
All concrete used in footings, slabs, columns and tie beams shall bs 3,OOU PSI at 28 days,
and shall comply with ACI specifications.
First block cavity each side of opening shall be filled solid with concrete.
Framinngg;Stud wall shall be 2x4 wood studs at 24" o/c (interior) with (1) 2x4 P.T. sill PL,
and (1) 2x4 top R-, or 3 1/2" metal studs.
Bearing walls shall be 2x4 at 12" o/c, with (1) 2x4 P.T. sill(¢ with 1/2" 0 x 8 1/2 " A.B.
@ 48 o/c with (2) 2x4 top 1L . At each side of all openin§s, use (2) 2x4 studs, and at all
corners use (3) 2x4 studs. Provide 2x4 WD. Blocking, 4'0 o/c hwriz. UnJ4r all girders 6
ba, ends, use 4x4 P.T. wd. post in stud walls, unless otherwise noted.
* In single story III two story bearing walls, headers over opening 6'0" S over shall be (2)
2x12 with 1/211 plywood between glue and nail (1500 fb structural grade lumber).
* All wood in contact with concrete shall be pt.
* All other stud wall headers (2) 2x6 with "car.
.* All steel shall be grade 60 (fy - 60,000)
* All construction shall be in accordance with all prevaili% codes and in goo;J construction
practice.
All products used shall be installed as per mfgrs. instructions.
* All BM steel shall have 1" cover. Bottom steel. shall be in bottom of I1M.
See structural plan or roof plan for other notes.
x Submit truss shop drawings for approval.
* Strap all trusses to bearing walls with on approval MIL. at+chwr strap.
,* All tie beams over block walls shall be 8"x12•' min., with 2 I5 top and 2 •5 bottom.
Beams shall bear min. 8" each side of opening.
* Reinforcement of beams over openings: See roof plan.
*All column anchors shall be Simpson, with a minimum 2-5/8" 0 A.B.
*ALL anchor bolts bhall have minimum 4" penetration
* All buckets and straps and column base plates shall be Simpson.
* All 2nd floor stud framing to exterior walls and bearing walls shall have metal cross -
bracing at all corners, as well as exterior plywood sheets.
* All B.P. roofing shall be 3 PLY-20 year roofing system. Top layer shall be fiberglass.
