UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD PANELS BE HANDLED ROUGHLY. PACKAGES OF SHEETS SHOULD
BE LIFTED OFF THE TRUCK WITH EXTREME CARE TAKEN TO INSURE THAT NO DAMAGE OCCURS TO
ENDS OF THE SHEETS OR TO SIDE RIBS. THE PACKAGES SHOULD BE STORED OFF THE GROUND

IN CONTACT WITH THE SURFACE OF THE PANELS OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD CAN SEVERELY ATTACK
THEIR FINISH AND REDUCE THEIR EFFECTIVE SERVICE LIFE. THEREFORE, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL
PANELS BE INSPECTED FOR MOISTURE UPON RECEIPT OF THE ORDER. IF MOISTURE IS PRESENT, DRY
THE -PANELS AT ONCE AND STORE IN A DRY, WARM PLACE, IF POSSIBLE.
WHEN HANDLING OR UNCRARNG THE PANELS, LIFT. RATHER THAN SLIDE, THEM APART. BURRING
EDGES MAY SCRATCH THE COATED SURFACES WHEN SHEETS ARE SLID OVER ONE ANOTHER. NEVER
ALLOW PANELS TO BE WALKED ON WHILE ON THE GROUND.
ROUGH AND IMPROPER HANDLING OF PANELS IS INEXCUSABLE AND A PRIME EXAMPLE OF POOR JOB
SUPERVISION.

MARK THE OUTER FLANGE LINE WITH A PENCIL.
REMOVE CURB.
5. CAULK ALL PANEL SIDELAPS THAT WILL BE
LOCATED UNDER THE CURB FLANGE. REFER TO
DETAIL 'A'.
6. APPLY THE TAPE MASTIC AND CAULK AS
OUTLINED IN THE DETAILS.
7. PLACE THE CURB OVER THE OPENING AND
ATTACH WITH 012 ROOF FASTENERS IN THE
PRE -DRILLED HOLES.
8. TOOL ALL EXPOSED CAULKING TO ALLOW FOR
PROPER DRAINAGE. REMOVE ALL METAL
SHAVINGS FROM CURB AREA.
9. WHEN FIELD CUTTING PANELS OR TRIM DO NOT USE
ABRASIVE SAWS OR OTHER CURING METHODS WHICH
PRODUCE HOT METAL PARTICLES OR BURN THE CUT
EDGES. THESE METHODS WILL DAMAGE THE PAINTED
AND GALVALUME FINISH AND VOID ANY WARRANTIES.
USE DOUBLE CUT SHEARS, NIBBLERS, OR OTHER
CUTTING DEVICES WHICH DO NOT PRODUCE HOT METAL

4. INSTALL THE ROOF PANELS ACCORDING TO THE APPROPRIATE MANUAL

1. INSTALL CABLE BRACING IN THE PROPER HOLES AT THE TOP OF ONE
COLUMN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE NEXT COLUMN, RUNNING THE CABLE
TO THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE GIRTS. IF YOU HAVE ROD BRACING
A NYLON STRING LINE MAY ALSO BE USED.
BEVEL "iASHER ROD BRACE 2. TIGHTEN THE CABLE OR STRING LINE SO THERE IS NO SLACK.
3. WHERE THE CABLE OR STRING LINE CROSSES THE WEB OF THE GIRTS,
MARK TWO INCHES ON EITHER SIDE OF THIS POINT.
4. USING A SQUARE. MAKE TWO PARALLEL LINES FROM THESE TWO MARKS
ON THE WEB OF THE GIRTS.
5. AT THE COLUMN, DETERMINE THE MEASUREMENT FROM OUTSIDE GIRT
LINE TO CENTERLINE OF CABLE OR ROD BRACE HOLE- AMUZE THIS
MEASUREMENT AS THE CENTERLINE OF A 1' X 4' SLOT TO BE MADE
_ BETWEEN THE TWO PARALLEL LINES MARKED ON THE WEB OF THE
GIRTS. SOME OF THE LARGER CABLES OR RODS MAY REQUIRE A
SLIGHTLY LARGER SLOT TO ALLOW THE EYEBOLT TO PASS THROUGH.
6. AFTER ALL GIRTS HAVE BEEN MARKED AND SLOTTED, INSTALL CABLE OR
ROD BRACING THROUGH THE SLOTS, THROUGH THE BRACE HOLES IN THE
COLUMNS, AND TIGHTEN.
