When the axle clamps are
loosened, the chain leads will be under tension. -Use
extreme care when handling the chain leads.
Secure both leads of the chain to the chain retainer
(25). Score a horizontal line an the axle. Loosen axle
hardware to allow axle to spin freely. Grip both leads
of the chain securely. Note direction axle must turn to
add or reduce tension (SEE DIAGRAM 19). Rotate
axle as required. Secure both chain leads to chain
retainer. Tighten all axle hardware. Repeat this opera-
tion If more or less tension is required.
B. All otter doom.
r
When the side damps are
loosened, the springs will be very strong. You will
need two people to adjust the door tension safely.
1. Each person should firmly place a large pipe
wrench on the axle as shown In DIAGRAM 19.
Loosen the axle clamps and pull down for more
tension and up for less tension. For Pocket
Wheel Reduction Drive doors, remember to
loosen set screws prior to adjustment and
redghten securely after adjustment

Reduction Gear Doors, check for sprocket
alignment and proper chain tension. Also check
that set screws an Pocket Wheel Assembly are
securely fastened.
4. DOOR DOES NOT CONTACT FLOOR LEVEL
A Use spirit level to check whether door or floor is
off level. If floor is out of level, proceed to
check the following points:
B. Check If'Support Brackets' and guides are
level.
C. if 74' and 'B' check out all tight, roll door all the
way up and see If curtain rolls up straight on
drums. End of door should be square. If krone
shaped, go to Section 5.
D. Models 231, 232, 233, 234, 235: If all of the
above check out and curtain is no more than
1/2- out of level, the following method of curtain
straightening may be used. The long side of
the curtain can be shrunk as follows: Roll door
all the way down. On the outside of the door
curtain Is a steel strip I Ile wile. This ship
holds the curtain square. Take a screwdriver
and eiightiy depress strip into corrugated rib. A
small amount in each of the lower ten ribs.
Door curtain will shrink on that side.
5. DOOR DOES NOT ROLL UP STRAIGHT
