We now have approvals to honor your SCANNEo St Lucie ive with homes produced after June 14, 2000 , SN 0120N, we will begin c0unfy ;implementation of two new procedures to enhance the visual appearance of the roof .at the tag unit / dormer transition. The first revision will change our methods of completing the tag and main unit roof sheathing. Luaun paneling will be used for temporary close off at the roof mating line. Roof sheathing shipped loose in the home, must be cut to size and installed after the units are secured together. This is illustrated in the "Addendum for Alternate Roof Sheathing Application on Tag Unit" print attached. The second revision will delete the shingles on the dormer. Shingles will be applied at the factory as illustrated on the "Closed Valley for Dormer Tag" print. Once the triangular beam and roof sheathing is secured, properly apply underlayment and shingles as per Manufactured Home Installation for Triple Wide Homes Manual. Also, before shingles are applied and after the underlayment is installed, be sure to strike chalk lines to insured good straight course lines. May 19, 2000 ` I l I W Main Unit Sidewall save. See figure 1 below for a'general truss layout in the folded position. The hinged portion of the roof has been temporarily secured for transportation. Remove all shipping braces or straps before attempting to raise the hinged sections of the roof. I NOTE: All of the temporary securement must be removed from the unit before proceeding to avoid stressing the roof unnecessarily. rrv. Raise the hinged sections of the roof by using lifting jacks or a crane. (See Fig. 2). The jacks are spaced along the length of the home. One side of the roof is raised first. Lifting locations are to be located 8 fe o maximu . ise the roof, so that the hinged diagonal member of the truss is just able to be swung into position. ( it above the ce ter truss vertical member) Do NOT over jack. This process is repeated on the opposite side of the ti section until t e entire roof is in position. ro `r r.A L u 3The final position of the truss is shown on the OFenclosed drawing. — Lifting y O J 4 J Q O 14CTs tinged diagonal 2x4 rail Comeverffcal Horizontal member 2x8 Fait FIG. 2 Use the following method to secure the hinged truss diagonal members. One vent is required for each toilet The plumbing vents have been factory Installed through the ceiling into the roof cavity and above the insulation. The additional piping, couplers and adhesive have been factory provided to complete the vents. The vent pipe shall be installed straight through the roof. No additional turns are allowed to be installed between the factory and field installed portions of the vent pipe. The exterior roof flashing has been factory installed. After the hinged portion of the roof is secured, install the remaining piping through the factory installed flashing. Secure the pipe sections togetherwith the provided coupler and cement. The plumbing vent must extend at least 2 inches above the roof. Firestopping for site installed roof jack/vent assemblies for furnaces, water heaters and/or fireplaces with hinged type roof trusses: The gas furnace, gas water heater or fireplace roof jack (exhaust vent) must be firestopped between the interior of the home and the ceiling cavity.
