Plans have a note that state attached or freestanding garages , 2. No gable end truss or wall is needed if garage is ,adjacent to the home 3. 2 x 4 ledgers can be used against home to nail plywood The code does not require a fire resistance rated separation between the garage and the residence. 'The code does require at least %2" gypsum board attached to the garage side. Since this is an existing wall, we are requesting recognition of the calculated fire resistance provisions of the Florida Building Code, building to determine equivalency with the 1/z" gypsum board required. �he calculated fire resistance of the wall is 3 0 minutes, which exceeds the 15 minute value assigned to the gypsum wallboard.
