The HTA20 truss anchor is a 16ga. metal strap anchor embedded into a concrete beam. This strap is made in three lengths, 16", 20", and 24". The last two numbers in the product code designate the length of the strap so the strap in question has a length of 20". In all other structural aspects the straps are identical with the longer straps having more nailing area for larger uplift requirements. In reviewing the engineering for the 51' span roof trusses, the worst case uplift for a common truss or common hip truss is less than 1380#. To satisfy this value a minimum of 10 nails must be used. Less nailing may be used for uplifts of lesser value per the chart below. All nails are to be 1 Od x 1 '/2".
