1. The Contractor and/or construction surveyor shall verify the
elevation of the benchmark shown on construction plans. Verify
all elevations of existing pavement, subouts and structures
before starting construction and notify the Engineer if any
discrepancy in elevations exist.
2. The Contractor is herein advised that "record drawings" will be
performed on the project which will reflect the elevation and
location of all structures and improvements on the project.
These "record drawings" will be utilized by the Engineer to
determine conformance of the project to required tolerances as
set forth by permitting and/or approving public agencies.
Tolerances established by these agencies must be met in order
for the project to be accepted for final certification and
approval.
3. Pipe lengths shown on the plan are approximate and the governing
criteria is the intended location of the drainage structure.
4. All construction is to be in accordance with the Florida
Department of Transportation and/or St. Lucie County
requirements and specifications, as applicable.
5. Roadwork within the St. Lucie County right-of-way is subject to
permitting and approval by the governmental authority having
jurisdiction.
6. Disturbed areas shall be restored to their original condition.
All unpaved and unsodded areas disturbed during the construction
shall be seeded and mulched in accordance with Section 570 of the
Florida Department of Transportation Specifications. Sod shall
meet the requirements of Section 578 and Section 981 of the
Florida Department of Transportation Specifications.
7. Materials for roadway paving and drainage construction shall
meet applicable requirements for roadway construction as
outlined in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
Standard Specifications, latest edition.
8. On -site striping shall be 4" white traffic paint (Type T-1) in
accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation
Standard Specifications for Reflective Traffic Point (Section
971-12). Off -site striping shall be in accordance with the
Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for
Reflective Traffic Paint, the Florida Department of
Transportation Traffic Operations Standards and the Manual on
Uniform Traffic Control Devices unless otherwise specified on
the permits. All striping and markings shall be thermoplastic
In FDOT right-of-ways.
9. Signing shall be "Engineer Grade*, in accordance with the
Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications,
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and St. Lucie
County requirements. Stop signs shall be 30"00".
10. Concrete for structures, curbs, wheel stops, parking, loading
areas and sidewalks shall have a minimum 28 day compressive
strength of 3000 psi.
11, The contractor shall notify the Florida Department of
Transportation at least 48 hours prior to working in their
right--of-way. Permits (to be obtained by the Engineer) will be
required from the agency prior to construction.
12. All areas of fill, limerock stabilization, subgrade, etc., shall
be compacted to a minimum of 98% of maximum density in accordance
with AASHTO T-180.
13. The Engineer and St. Lucie County shall be notified for
inspection of subgrade, base and asphalt at least 24 hours in
advance of subsequent construction.
14. Concrete pipe shall meet the requirements of the Florida
Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road
and Bridge Construction, latest edition, Section 430 and Section
941.
15. Upright handicapped signs are to be provided at all handicapped
parking spaces in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices and the St. Lucie County requirements.
16. The Florida Department of Transportation approved local cemented
coquina shellrock is an approved alternative to limerock.
17. The Contractor is to verify all existing stubout elevations prior
to construction of on -site improvements. Coordination with
thebuilding contractor is required of the site work contractor.
18. Aluminum corrugated metal pipe shall meet the requirements of
AASHTO M-196 and the Florida Department of Transportation
Standard Specifications for Road and Construction, 1983 Edition,
Section 945. Field joints shall meet the Florida Department of
Transportation Standard Specifications Section 430-9.
19. Reference architectural drawings for sidewalk and handicapped
ramp construction.
20. Erosion and Sediment Control. Contractor is responsible for
providing erosion and sediment control using the latest FDOT
standards. Baled hay, straw and siltation barriers will be
installed where needed to prevent siltation of adjacent property,
public right-of-way, wetlands and waterways. These will remain
in place until grassing or sodding has been completed or until
siltation and erosion are no longer a threat to adjacent property
and waterway.

PAVING & DRAINAGE NOTES
1. The Contractor and/or construction surveyor shall verify the
elevation of the benchmark shown on construction plans. Verify
all elevations of existing pavement, subouts and structures
before starting construction and notify the Engineer if any
discrepancy in elevations exist.
2. The Contractor Is herein advised that "record drawings" will be
performed on the project which will reflect the elevation and
location of all structures and improvements on the project.
These "record drawings" will be utilized by the Engineer to
determine conformance of the project to required tolerances as
set forth by permitting and/or approving public agencies.
Tolerances established by these agencies must be met in order
for the project to be accepted for final certification and
approval.
3. Pipe lengths shown on the plan are approximate and the governing
. , criteria is the intended location of the drainage structure.
4. All construction is to be in accordance with the Florida
Department of Transportation and/or St. Lucie County
requirements and specifications, as applicable.
5. Roadwork within the St. Lucie County right-of-way is subject to
permitting and approval by the governmental authority having
jurisdiction.
6. Disturbed areas shall be restored to their original condition.
All unpaved and unsodded areas disturbed during the construction
shall be seeded and mulched in accordance with Section 570 of the
Florida Department of Transportation Specifications. Sod shall
meet the requirements of Section 578 and Section 981 of the
Florida Department of Transportation Specifications.
7. Materials for roadway paving and drainage construction shall
meet applicable requirements for roadway construction as
outlined in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
Standard Specifications, latest edition.
8. On -site striping shall be 4" white traffic paint (Type T-1) in
accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation
Standard Specifications for Reflective Traffic Paint (Section
971-12). Off -site striping shall be In accordance with the
Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for
Reflective Traffic Paint, the Florida Department of
Transportation Traffic Operations Standards and the Manual on
Uniform Traffic Control Devices unless otherwise specified on
the permits. All striping and markings shall be thermoplastic
In FDOT right-of-ways.
9. Signing shall be "Engineer Grade', in accordance with the
Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications,
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and St. Lucie
County requirements. Stop signs shall be 30"x30".
10. Concrete for structures, curbs, wheel stops, parking, loading
areas and sidewalks shall have a minimum 28 day compressive
strength of 3000 psi.
it. The contractor shall notify the Florida Department of
Transportation at least 48 hours prior to working in their
right-of-way. Permits (to be obtained by the Engineer) will be
required from the agency prior to construction.
12. All areas of fill, limerock stabilization, subgrode, etc., shall
be compacted to a minimum of 98% of maximum density in accordance
with AASHTO T-180.
13. The Engineer and St. Lucie County shall be notified for
inspection of subgrade, base and asphalt at least 24 hours in
advance of subsequent construction.
14. Concrete pipe shall meet the requirements of the Florida
Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road
and Bridge Construction, latest edition, Section 430 and Section
941.
15. Upright handicapped signs are to be provided at all handicapped
parking spaces in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices and the St. Lucie County requirements.
16. The Florida Department of Transportation approved local cemented
coquina shellrock is an approved alternative to limerock.
17. The Contractor Is to verify all existing stubout elevations prior
to construction of on -site improvements. Coordination with
the building contractor is required of the site work contractor.
18. Aluminum corrugated metal pipe shall meet the requirements of
AASHTO M-196 and the Florida Department of Transportation
Standard Specifications for Road and Construction, 1983 Edition,
Section 945. Field joints shall meet the Florida Department of
Transportation Standard Specifications Section 430-9.
19. Reference architectural drawings for sidewalk and handicapped
ramp construction.
20, Erosion and Sediment Control. Contractor is responsible for
providing erosion and sediment control using the latest FDOT
standards. Baled hay, straw and siltation barriers will be
installed where needed to prevent siltation of adjacent property,
public right-of-way, wetlands and waterways. .These will remain
in place until grassing or sodding has been completed or until
siltation and erosion are no longer a threat to adjacent property
and waterway.
