NFPA - National Fire Protection Association CODES AND PERMITS The installation shall comply with all laws applying to electrical installations in effect with the regulations of the NEC and local regu- lations, and with the regulations of the public utility company furnishing the service. The contractor shall obtain all permits and pay all fees pertaining thereto, including costs or deposits for permanent service when building is completed. DELIVERY AND STORAGE• All material shall be UL approved unless otherwise required and shall be delivered to the site at such stages of the work as will expedite the work as a whole. They shall be there stored in original cartons until ready for use In such a manner as to permit ready observation by the Architect. This Contractor shall make his own provisions for delivery and safe storage of materials. CONDIUCT I ON All wiring shall be done with copper conductors sized to satisfy all the governing regulations and codes. Minimum wire size shall be e12WG. Wire 06WG and larger shall be stranded. The insulation shall be type TM or THW or as shown on the plan and shall conform with NEC for the particular application. THW conductor shall be used in conduit run on roof decking. Wires shall not be pulled into conduits until the entire conduit system Is completely installed and swabbed out and the building, except interior finish, is substantlall, completed. Only UL approved wire lubricants shall be applied to the conductors. All wires of the same circuit shall run in the mamas conduit. Splices, taps, and terminals shall be made 1n accordance with NEC and shall be made In Junction boxes, outlets, and panalboards only. All wires shall run in metallic raceways. MCEWAYS Conduits shall be either rigid steel or electrical metallic tubing as required by NEC and shall be of standard type and manufacture. Conduits In damp or wet locations as in earth fill, concrete slabs, etc., or where subject to mechanical injury shall be standard weight rigid galvanized or sherldized conduit. P.V.C. may W used where permitted. All raceways shall be installed as one complete system with all joints in pipes and all connections to boxes made electrically and mechanically correct. Raceways shall be installed with a pitch toward boxes and shall be firmly secured with standard fittings. No raceway shall be so located as t. endanger the strength of structural members and no horizontal runs shall be made In wall■ or partitions with- out special permission. Provide sleeves for cuncrete beam penetrations. All conduits shall run concealed with the finished structure or above the finished ceiling. Gang boxes sized as required shall be provided for banks or more than one switch. All boxes at outlets intended for fixtures shall have approved fixture studs fastened to the boxes with approved fastening. BOXES (cont'd) No outlet box shall be so located as to displace or interfere with rein- forcing steel in concrete slabs, jolsts, beans, or columns. Junction boxes and outlet boxes used as pull boxes shall be provided with a suitable cover of same material as box. STALLATION The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the proper installation of h1w work. He shall arrange with the proper contractors for the build- ing in of anchors, etc., and for the leaving of the required chases, openings, etc., and shall do all cutting and patching made necessary by his falling or neglect to make such arrangements with others. SIGNS Verify final l.>cation of all signs with Sign Contractor. Furnish and install all conduits and wires with stub outs as directed by the Sign Contractor.
