FEATURES
O INNOVATIVE ENGINE DESIGN & RIGOROUS TESTING are at the heart of Generac's
success in providing the most reliable generators possible. Generac's G-Force engine
lineup offers added peace of mind and reliability Ior when you need it the most. The
G-Farce series engines are purpose built and designed to handle the rigors of
extended run times in high temperatures and extreme operating conditions.
O TRUE POWER'" ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY: Supedor harmonics and sine wave
form produce less than 5%Total Harmonic Distortion for utility quality power. This allows
confident operation of sensitive electronic equipment and micra-chip based appliances,
such as variable speed HVAC systems.

Description
Generac Automatic Transfer Switches are designed for use with single phase generators that utilize an Evolution'" or Nexus"'
Controller. The 100, 200, and 400 amp open transition switches are available in single phase in both service equipment rated and
non -service equipment rated configurations. The 150 and 300 amp open transition switches are only available in a service rated
equipment configuration.
Standard Features
Service rated (RXSW) Generac Automatic Transfer Switches are housed in an aluminum NEMA/UL Type 3R enclosure`, with
electrostatically applied and baked powder paint. The Heavy Duty Generac Contactor is a UL recognized device, designed for
years of service. The controller at the generator handles all the timing, sensing, exercising functions, and transfer commands. All
switches are covered by a 5 year limited warranty.
Non -service rated (RXSC) switches are housed in a steel enclosure.
DPM Technology
Through the use of digital power technology (DPM), these switches have the capability to manage up to 4 individual HVAC (24 VAC
controlled) loads with no additional hardware. When used in tandem with Smart Management Modules, up to 8 more loads can be
managed as well, providing the most installation efficient power management options available.

Gegerao's Smart Power Management System Is designed to optimize the performance of a standby generator. The system can consist of up to 8 Indlvldual
Smart Management Modules (SMM). Unlike other load management systems that depend on another control device, the SMM modules are actually self -
aware and operate autonomously.
Frequency is the Ws measure of generator engine performance and does not need to factor In Increased ambient temperatures, elevation changes or
generator fuel type. The modules monitor the frequency (Hz) of the power being produced by Generac's standby generators and if It falls below a certain
threshold, the module will automatically follow a power management algorithm to ensure that the generator Is not overloaded.
The modules can beset to a load prioritybetween 1-8 or beset in a Iock oul only mode for loads that Just Simply do not need to run In an outage, therefore
reducing the necessary el2e of the generator for a more cost effective solution.

Installation Guidelines For60 Hz Air -Cooled Generators II
Site Selection and Preparation
Install the generator set, in its protective enclosure,
outdoors where adequate cooling and ventilating air is
always available (F6gara & 1). Consider these factors:
— ja=n oT me generator must comply
strictly with ICC IFGC, NFPA 37, NFPA 54, NFPA
58. and NFPA 70 standards.
Install the unit where air inlet and outlet openings
will not become obstructed by leaves, grass, snow,
etc• if prevailing winds will cause blowing or
unit. Windbreak consider using a Windbreak to protect the
unit.
' Install the generator on high ground where water
levels will not rise and endanger it. This unit should
not operate in or be subjected to standing water.
° Allow sufficient room on all sides of the generator
for maintenance and servicing. This unit must be
installed In accordance with any local, state, or
national cocas for minimum distances from other
structures.
0 Clearance from the ends and front of the generator
must be 3 ft (0.g1 m). This includes shrubs,
bushes, and trees. Clearance from the back hr the
generator must be a minimum of 18 e ack4s7 f th Clearance at the top should be a minimum of 5 ft (1.52 m) from any structure, overhang, or projections from the wa1L
° DO NOT install under wooden decks or structures
unless there is st least 5 ft (1.52 m) of clearance
above the generator,

Installation Guidelines for Stationary Air -Cooled
Generators
NFPA 37 is the The National Fire Protection
Association's standard for the installation and use of
stationary combustion engines. Its requirements ►imit the
spacing of an enclosed generator set from a structure or
wall (1igm e & 1).
NFPA 37, Section 4.1.4, Engines Located Outdoors:
Engines, and their weatherproof housings if provided,
that are from
(1,52 m) from openOP outdoors shall be located at least 5 ft
ings In walls and at least 5 ft (1.52 m)
from structures having combustible wails. A minimum
separation shall not be required where the following
conditions exist:
1 • The adjacent wall of the structure has a fire
reslatance rating of at least one hour.
2 The The enclosure is constructed of
noncombustible materials and it has been
demonstrated that a fire within the enclosure will
not ignite combustible materials outside the
enclosure.
