Gentlemen,
The owner has requested that we provide a letter to approve the
structural repairs for the porch and steps that he made without
obtaining a building permit.
We have inspected the porch framing and it has been done in a
good workmanship manner. The framing and composite decking
has been properly strapped with Simpson connectors to provide
a continuous uplift load path per the wind code.
We hereby certify these repairs meet or exceeds the
requirements of W, (2017 FBC (6T" edition) and ASCE 7-10.

The existing porch stairs were in disrepair and the wood was rotting from water
damage over its lifespan. The stairs were removed along with the top landing.
New joists were installed at landing and new stairs stringers and stairs were
installed. New pressure treated wood was installed to the concrete landing using
Simpson connectors as per engineer specifications. The stair stringers were
attached to both the concrete base, concrete existing porch structure and
concrete block landing also as per engineer specifications. Landing and stairs
were covered in composite material.
