Dear Lt. Tomlinson:
Please - find attached three (3) sets of previously submitted, now revised,
Construction Documents. As per your requirements, we have indicated on the
attached blueprints your comments as summarized below and as they relate to
these drawings, as indicated on your Building Plan -Check List, dated
• October 27, 1987, Numbered Permit 1575.
Summary of Revi-sons that now area part of the Contract and Construction
Requirements for the Harbour Ridge Golf & Yacht Club.
Clubhouse:
Items #1 through #5, are the responsibility of the Civil Engineers of Record.
Item #6, Stairs shall comply with NFPA 101, 5-2.2:
a. Maximum of risers 7"
b. Minimum of risers 4"
c. Minimum tread depth 11"
d. Minimum width of clearance 44"
Due to structural requirements, we will have to review your recommendation
and we will respond.
Item #7, Rooms #229, #228, and #128 shall comply with NFPA 101, 8-2.4.3.
Additional exit door needed in opposite direction. Pocket doors not allowed
nor is door through service area. There are no pocket type doors as

Item #8, a manual fire alarm station shall be provided in the natural path of
escape near each required exit. NFPA 101, 7-6, 2.3.
Item #9, F.A.C.P. shall be located in Reception Counter area, not in Electrical
Room. This is not included in NFPA 101, 8-3.4 Detection, Alarm and Communication
Systems. (NFPA 72F, 3-1.1) NFPA 101, 8-3.4 shall be complied with in its
entirety including emergency power source. Refer to Interstate Alarm System
Company for all information pertaining to fire alarm and security systems.
Item #10, all fire rated walls and smoke barrier walls shall be lettered as
such in attic area. S.B.C.C. 702.1.6f.
Item #11, Sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA #13, #14, #20 and #24,
especially to Chapter #4, Spacing, Location, and Position. All valves which
control flow of water to the system shall have a flow and tamper switch and
be monitored by an approved monitoring company.
Item #12, Automatic extinguishing systems and hoods for cooking protection
shall comply with NFPA #96.
Item #13, all system �r�W lers, sprinkler, hood, fire alarm, etc., shall
obtain a permit from � office after plans have been reviewed and before any
work is begun on the job.
Item #14, ACHU shall comply with Standard Mechanical Code, Chapter #5.
Item #15, Portable fire extinguishers required; minimum 40BC rated for
Kitchen area and minimum 2A-I0BC rated needed every 75' of travel distance.
Owner and General Contractor will locate portable fire extinguishers as per
Code Requirements.
Item #16, boiler and furnace rooms, laundries, and maintenance shops, including
woodworking and painting areas, shall be separated from the remainder of the
building by construction having not less than one (1) hour fire resistance
rating with all openings protected by self -closing or smoke -actuated fire doors.
Item #17, a) Interior finish shall comply with NFPA 101, 6-5.
b) Interior finish in all corridors and lobbies shall be Class A
or Class B and in enclosed stairways, Class A.
Interior finishes not detailed on these drawings are not a part of the Architect's
Contract, but General Contractor will adhere to the basic requirements as
addressed by the above references.

Golf Cart Storage Building:
Item #1, need attic access. Generally, the golf cart parking area does not
have an attic space.
Item #2, Portable fire extinguishers: minimum 2A-IOBC every 75' of travel
distance. Owner and General Contractor will locate portable fire extinguishers
as per Code Requirements.
