As per Owner's request, the re -roofing of asphalt shingles of the subject residence is
inspected by myself, on this date, after its completion in 2016. The purpose of these
inspections was to determine the level of code conformance for the installation of the
new asphalt shingles.
The one -story -high roof has gable configuration and 4/12 slope. Based on careful
inspections, conducted in attic space and on the roof, the following are observed:
A) The existing 19/32" CDX plywood sheathing is re -nailed using 8d ring-shanked nails
to measure 6" o.c. in field and 4" o.c. in perimeter/corner zones.
13) The roof deck is provided with one ply of ASTM D226 Type II (30-Ibs) felt
underlayment tin -tagged by using 11 ga 11/4' ring-shanked nails spaced at 6" o.c.
along seams and 12" o.c. staggered two rows in middle of sheet.
C) All 26 ga. 2"x2" galv'd drip edge metals are overlapped a min. of 4" and installed
using 11 ga. 1-1/4" MDA-approved roofing nails at 4" o.c.
D) The exposure and course layout conform to Owens Corning (NOA #18-0216.01)
"Supreme AR 3-Tab" asphalt shingles, fastened using six (6) 11 ga. 11/G" long roofing
nails.
Therefore, this letter is to certify that re -nailing of existing plywood deck, installation of
30-Ibs felt underlayment, roof metals and installation of Owens Corning "Supreme"
3-Tab asphalt shingles of subject residence are completed conforming to requirements
of 6t' Edition of 2017 Florida Building Code which specifies 165 MPH ultimate wind speed
for Risk Category II, in Exposure B area.
If you have any questions regarding this matter or I may be of further assistance, please
do not hesitate to call me.
Sincerely,
d
