5.6.1 Direct -Bond to Deck:
➢ New or existing untreated plywood; primed or primed with ASTM D41 primer.
➢ New or existing untreated OSB; primed or primed with ASTM D41 primer.

➢ ASTM D226, 11 felt.
5.6.3 Wind Resistance for Underlayment Systems in Foam -On Tile Applications: FRSA/TRI April 2012 (04-12) does not
address wind uplift resistance of all underlayment systems beneath foam -on tile systems, where the underlayment
forms part of the load -path. The following wind uplift limitations apply to underlayment systems that are not
addressed in FRSA/TRI April 2012 (04-12) and are used in foam -on tile applications. Maximum Design Pressure is
the result of testing for wind load resistance based on allowable wind loads, and reflects the ultimate passing
pressure divided by 2 (the 2 to 1 margin of safety per FBC 1504.9 has already been applied). Refer to FRSA/TRI April
2012 (04-12), Appendix A, Table 3A or FBC 1609 for determination of design wind loads.
#1 Maximum Design Pressure=-97.5 psf:
Deck: Min. 15/32-inch plywood to meet project requirements to satisfaction of Authority Having
Jurisdiction.
Primer: (Optional) ASTM D41
Underlayment: Roofnado' LapLockm PSU, self -adhered and back -nailed max. 12" o.c.
5.7 Exposure Limitations:
RoofnadoTM AnchorDeckTM,StormTread^ orShinglel.ockTM shall not be left exposed for longerthan 30-days.
RoofnadoTM LapLock" PSU shall not be left exposed for longer than 90-days.
5.8 Tile Slippaee Limitations [per FRSA/TRI April 2012 (04-12)1-
When loading roof tiles on the underlayment in direct -deck tile assemblies, the maximum roof slope shall be as
follows. These slope limitations can only be exceeded by using battens during loading of the roof tiles.
6.1 RoofnadoTM Synthetic Roofing Underlayments shall be installed in accordance with Sentry Building Innovations
published installation instructions subject to the Limitations set forth in Section 5 herein and the guidelines noted
below.
6.2 Re -fasten any loose decking panels, and check for protruding nail heads. Sweep the substrate thoroughly to
remove any dust and debris prior to application, and prime the substrate (if applicable).
6.3 Roofnado'" AnchorDeck— StormTreadTM orShingleLock'":
6.3.1 Shall be installed in compliance with the requirements for ASTM D226, Type I or II underlayment in FBC Table
1507.1.1 or R905.1.1 forthe type of prepared roof covering to be installed, considering the wider sheet -width.

6.3.2 Fasteners:
✓ If primary roof cover is installed within 24-hours, fasteners may be corrosion resistant 3/8-inch head x 1-inch
long roofing nails
✓ If primary roof cover is installed after 24-hours, fasteners shall be plastic cap nails or metal cap nails with
minimum 1-inch diameter head.
x Do not use staples.
Ensure fasteners are installed at 90 degree angle to the deck with flush contact between the cap and the upper
surface of the underlayment. Fasteners shall be of sufficient length to penetrate through the underside of plywood
or OSB decks, or minimum %-inch embedment into dimensional lumber/ tongue -and -grove wood decks.
6.3.2.1 Code Reference: The Exception statement in FBC 1507.1.1 and FBC R905.1.1 requires use of metal cap nails where
the ultimate design wind speed, Vah, equals or exceeds 150 mph.
6.3.3 When required by the local building code or Authority Having Jurisdiction, install a leak barrier of ASTM D1970 or
equal holding Florida Statewide Product Approval or Local Approval at vulnerable leak areas, including but not
limited to eaves, valleys, rakes, skylights and dormers.
6.3.4 Single Laver, Slopes of 4:12 and more:
End (vertical) laps shall be minimum 6-inches and side (horizontal) laps shall be minimum 3-inches. Ensure all
vertical end -laps are staggered at least 3-feet apart.
Minimum attachment shall be in accordance with FBC Table 1507.1.1 or R905.1.1, considering the wider sheet -
width. When batten systems are to be installed atop the underlayment, the underlayment need only be
preliminarily attached pending attachment of the battens.
6.3.5 Double Laver, Slopes between 2:12 and 4:12•
Double layer application; begin by fastening a 25.5-inch wide strip along the eaves. Place a full -width sheet over
the starter, completely overlapping the starter course. Continue as noted in 6.3.4, but maintaining minimum 25.5-
inch side (horizontal) laps, resulting in a double -layer application and 6-inch wide end (vertical) laps. Ensure all
vertical end -laps are staggered at least 6-feet apart.
6.3.6 Contact Sentry Building Innovations [(843) 735-1773] for exposure to high wind velocity areas.
6.4 RdofnadoTM WpLock'" PSU:..
6.4.1 Non -Tile Installations
Shall be installed in compliance with the codified requirements for ASTM D1970 underlayment in FBC Table
1507.1.1 for the type of prepared roof covering to be installed, and Sentry Building Innovations published
requirements.
6.4.2 Tile Applications:
Shall be installed in compliance with the requirements for Self -Adhered Membrane underlayment set forth in
FRSA/TRI April 2022 (04-12), and Sentry Building Innovations published requirements.
Tile shall be loaded and staged in a manner that prevents tile slippage and/or damage to the underlayment. Refer
to Table 2 herein, and Sentry Building Innovations published requirements for tile staging.

Refer to the tile adhesive manufacturer's published installation instructions for adhesive paddy placement details.
➢ "INDEPENDENT" paddy placement means each individual tile is bonded to the Channel Metal in its own, single
foam paddy; tile head laps are not bonded. This method is limited to 2-part tile adhesives. Allowable
performance data below for "INDEPENDENT" paddy placement already has a 2 to 1 margin of safety applied to
ultimate performance.
➢ "INTERDEPENDENT" paddy placement means each individual tile is bonded to the Channel Metal in a foam paddy,
and a second foam paddy bonds the tile head lap, or two tiles are bonded to the Channel Metal using a single
foam paddy. Allowable performance data below for "INTERDEPENDENT" paddy placement already has a 4 to 1
margin of safety applied to ultimate performance.
