ST. LUCIE COUNTY LOCAL MITIGATION STRATEGY GENERAL MEETING
FRIDAY, APRIL 13, 2018
On Friday, April 13, 2018, at 9 a.m., the Public Safety Department’s Division of
Emergency Management will host the St. Lucie County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Steering
Committee and Working Group for a general meeting of its public and private sector membership.
This meeting is open to the public and will be held at the St. Lucie Transportation Planning
Organization, 466 SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard, Suite 111, Port St. Lucie, FL 34953.
The LMS Steering Committee and Working Group is comprised of county, municipal, and
community partners that prepare and promote local strategies and projects to reduce long-term
risks to life and property from natural, technological, and human-caused disasters. The resulting
pre- and post-disaster mitigation strategies and projects are supported by a variety of state and
federal programs and funding sources, in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.
Topics will include updates on the LMS program, the Community Rating System (CRS),
committee identification and membership, mitigation funding streams, and the project prioritized
list (PPL). Public attendance and comments are welcomed and encouraged.
