This is to certify that materials for the subject structure have been designed in accordance with
the order documents, specifically as shown per the attached Engineering Design Criteria
Sheet.
Aspects of code compliance as related to use or occupancy, such as sprinkler requirements,
are not addressed by these documents.
The materials for this building have been designed in general accordance with the 9th edition,
AISC Steel Construction Manual and 1996 AISI Cold Formed Steel Design Manual with 1999
addendum.
Star Building Systems is certified by AISC in Category MB. These structural components have
been designed at the Oklahoma City, OK, facility and will be fabricated at one or more of the
following AISC certified locations: Monticello, IA; Lockeford, CA; Elizabethton, TN; Columbus,
MS; or Rocky Mount, NC.
These materials, when properly erected on an adequate foundation in accordance with the
erection drawings as supplied and using the components as furnished, will meet the attached
loading requirements without exceeding the allowable working stress.
This certification does not cover field modifications or the design of materials not furnished by
Star Building Systems.
The attached calculations are to remain with and form part of this Letter of Certification. This
letter voids and supersedes the previous.Letter of Certification, dated September 16, 2004.
The undersigned is not the engineer of record for the overall project.

"Bracing size" as noted on.Engine_ering documents and Erection
drawings denotes thread diameter for rod bracing and wire strand
cable diameter for wire strand cable bracing. -
All bolted joints with A325 Type 1 bolts are specified as
snug -tightened joints in accordance with the "Specification for
Structural Joints Using ASTM A325 or A490 Bolts, June'23, 2000".
Pretensioning methods, including turn -of -nut and'calibrated wrench
,are NOT required.
The materials supplied by Star Building Systems are designed -for
building(s) A & B to be classified as open or enclosed, per the
specified building code. If all walls are enclosed in the future, the
material shall attach to Star's framing to adequately transfer all
loads to the main framing system (rigid frames and rodbracing).
The maximum weight of any future wall enclosure material is 3 psf.
Any future construction that does not leave the building classified
as open or enclosed, per the specified building code, or exceeds
a weight of 3 psf, could void warranties and certifications as they
apply to the material supplied by Star.

Dear Mr. Hatcher:
Thank you for your time in preparing plans review comments for this project. We appreciate the
task tha, you undertake each day.
As per the comments, we have the following responses:
1. 2rdlevel office would require elevator to meetflorida accessibility code 11-4.1.2. Code
section 11-4.1.3 (5) exception 41 allows that elevators are not required if the floor area is less
than 3,000 sq. feet unless the building is a shopping mall, shopping center, or the office of a
health care provider. This facility meets the requirements of this exception.
2. . Fire sprinkler plans -table 500-factory industrial type IV unprotected. Building "A" will
have a sprinkler system and the plans are being prepared by the contractor. Building "C" is
factory industrial with an allowable area of 21,000 sq. feet unsprinkled. Area modifications allow
100% increase or a 21,000 sq. foot increase. The total allowable is 42,000 s.f and the total shown
in the plans is 41,500 s.f.
3. Travel distance length to exit — table 1004 Florida Building Code — manufacturer travel
distance to swing door warehouse from offices. The allowable distance of travel in the
manufacturing area is 250 feet in a sprinkler protected building. The distance to a required exit is
less than the maximum from any point.
4. Exits 2 d level minimum number for egress code 1004.2.2 per story 2. The drawings have
been modified to provide a maximum distance of 75 feet to a single exit per section 1004.1.2 of
the Florida Building Code.
