Versa Vent Ridge Vent Material for conformance to the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) of the Current Edition of the Florida Building Code —Building and Residential Volumes. - — DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT— INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS Product series/models covered by this evaluation are: 1. 1-3/4" needlepoint, 1-3/4" wide reticulated black foam ridge vent material. 2. 2" MWI, 2" wide reticulated black foam ridge vent material. 3. 2" needlepoint, 2" wide reticulated black foam ridge vent material. The ridge vent material has two glue strips to secure the ridge vent to the underside of the ridge cap. See Reference 1 for a description of the product, its installation and other pertinent data related to its approved use. PERFORMANCE AND TESTING STANDARDS SUMMARY Reference 2 conducted testing to the following standard(s). See Reference 3 for Equivalency Evaluation of test procedures to the Current Edition of the FBC/FRC. 1. TAS 100(A)-95, Test Procedure for Wind and Wind Driven Rain Resistance and/or Increased Windspeed Resistance of Soffit Ventilation Strip and Continuous or Intermittent Ventilation System Installed at the Ridge Area. 2. ASTM D 1929-96, Standard Test Method for Determining Ignition Temperature of Plastics. 3. ASTM D 635-98, Standard Test Method for Rate of Burning and/or Extent and Time of Burning of Plastics in a Horizontal Position. 4. ASTM D 2843-99, Standard Test Method for Density of Smoke from the Burning or Decomposition of Plastics. TESTING RESULTS SUMMARY 1. Wind and wind driven rain resistance as documented in AT[ Test Report No. 54543.01-120-32. a. TAS 100(A)-95, Test Procedure for Wind and Wind Driven Rain Resistance and/or Increased Windspeed Resistance of Soffit Ventilation Strip and Continuous or Intermittent Ventilation System Installed at the Ridge Area.
