PIERCE, FLORIDA
The following, in response to your correspondence of July 7, 2004, is for your further review
and comment:
1. The building will be occupied solely by Dickerson of Florida, with a total Occupant Load
of 109 persons (please see attached Code Summary). Four exits are provided, three at
grade level and one at the second level. Given the single -tenant occupancy and the
means of egress provided, the Codes (Florida Building Code and NFPA 101) aren'tt,o.24a
clear whether, given the single -tenant occupancy, the exit corridors would need to a13'"pL
rated. 1Ai1.:PYJrdvs,
30-"M'
2. Should the Code(s) require the exit corridors to be rated, the doors will meet a mini
fire resistance of 20 minutes, per FBC Table 705.1.2.
3. Should the Code(s) require, the exit corridor walls will meet or exceed the assembly
rating requirements of UL 465. The ceiling will meet or exceed the assembly.rating
requirements of UL assemblies G028, G029 or G030.
4. Dickerson of Florida maintains company files as a policy. Dickerson has elected to
maintain these bulky files within their facility, in conditioned space and within the
Mechanical and File Storage area designated on the building's second level.
\The File Storage is not accessible by the public. Along with the mechanical equipment,
the file storage is expected to have minimal access by a limited number of Dickerson
employees.
The total occupancy of the second level is 29 persons and is provided with a single exit
per FBC, Section 1004 and NFPA 101 38.2.4.
'AFOr the reasons noted above, we believe an elevator is not required.
5. Handicapped details (please see attached) will be added to the permit plans and the
revision noted.
