120' Communication Tower Engineering Report
Richter Engineering was hired by Expert Construction Managers, Inc. to inspect and commission
the above referenced tower. We have the following to report:
1. The tower foundation was drilled to the proper depth of 29' and at 9' wide.
2. The steel reinforcing was placed properly in accordance with the foundation plan
provided by the tower manufacturer.
a. It was properly spaced, at 6" at the top 13' of the cage and at 12" at the bottom
13' of the cage.
b. The steel cage was tied with #4 ties per the drawings.
c. The rebar cage was made to 26' long and 8' wide with the reinforcing rings
spaced at every 5'.
3. The total amount of concrete poured to reinforce the caisson was 68 yards.
4. The concrete was placed into the caisson in accordance with ACI 301. Care was taken to
avoid any air pockets or segregation in the concrete.
5. The concrete coverage around the steel cage was no less than 3" all around and
covering the top of the cage.
6. Before the tower was erected the 7 day concrete break exceeded the 3000psi specified
on the drawings. See attache break report.
7. The tower was placed properly with all the hardware tightened correctly.
8. The tower itself was appropriately grounded with (2) 8' ground rods driven into the ground
that started 30" below the grade.
n closing, it is out opinion that the tower was properly installed in accordance with the plans and
fpecifications.
