2. NO CABLE BRACING SHALL BE USED ON ANY ENCLOSURE AT ANY TIME FOR THE
RESISTANCE OF ANY IMPOSED DESIGN LOADING.
3. THERE SHALL BE NO SUBSTITUTION OF EITHER CONCRETE ANCHOR TYPE OR
MANUFACTURER OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFIED ON THESE ENGINEERED DESIGN
DRAWINGS.
4. THERE SHALL BE NO SCREENING UTILIZED THAT 15 FINER THAN 18 x,14 MESH
SCREEN WITHOUT SITE -SPECIFIC DESIGN (THAT SHALL BE DONE PRIOR TO THE
JOB BEING FABRICATED OR INSTALLED) WITH JOB DRAWINGS BEARING THE
ENGINEER OF RECORDS ORIGINAL SIGNATURE (IN BLUE INK) UNDER HIS
EMBOSSED SEAL.
5. ALL SCREEN ROOF ENCLOSURES MUST BE POSITIONED ON THE EDGES OF THE
CONCRETE DECK 50 THAT THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE SCREEN FRAME IS NO
LESS THAT 2 314 - INCHES IN FROM THE EDGE, TO CREATE PROPER EDGE DISTANCE
FOR THE SPECIFIED CONCRETE ANCHORS AT THE BASF:OFEACH COLUMN.
G. ALL ROOF PURLINS IN THE ROOF AND CHAIR RAILS IN THE WALLS SHALL NOT
EXCEED 6-FEET CENTER - i0 - CENTER SPACING (SEE APPROPRIATE DETAILS ON
OTHER SHEETS OF THIS DRAWING FOR SPECIFIED MATERIAL 51ZE5 REQUIRED FOR
ANY GIVEN APPLICATION.
1. NO SCREEN ROOF ENCLOSURE SHALL BE INSTALLED UTILIZING SEVEN-INCH STRUCTURAL
GUTTER AS IT 15 NOT PERMITTED, OR STRUCTURALLY ADEQUATE UNDER THIS ENGINEERING.

OF RECORD PRIOR TO MEASURING 4 LAYOUT, FABRICATION

I. ANY SCREEN ROOF ENCLOSURE THAT UTILIZES ROOF BEAMS THAT EXCEED 40-FEET IN SPAN, AT
ANY POINT ON THE ENCLOSURE.
2. ANY SCREEN ROOF ENCLOSURE THAT UTILIZE5 WALL COLUMNS (UPRIGHTS) THAT EXCEED 12-FEET
IN HEIGHT AT ANY POINT ON THE ENCLOSURE,
3. ANY ENCLOSURE THAT UTILIZES ANY CARRIER BEAM (A BEAM THAT ACTS AS SUPPORT FOR ANY
OTHER SCREEN ROOF BEAM) AT ANY POINT CN THE ENCLOLSURE. NO CARRIER BEAM SHALL BE
PERMITTED TO BE MOUNTED TO THE FASCIA OF ANY HOST STRUCTURE (AS PRIMARY SUPPORT).
4. INSTALLATION OF ANY SCREEN ROOF ENCLOSURE ON AN EXISTING HOUSE FASCIA WHERE THE
OVERHANG EXCEEDS 2-FEET. NOTE THAT IF THE EXISTING RESIDENCE WAS CONSTRUCTED UNDER
ANY BUILDING CODE PRIOR TO F.B.C. 2001, THE JOB MAY REQUIRE FOURTH -WALL TYPE CONST., AS
THERE 18 NO WAY TO CERTIFY THE ABILITY OF A HOST STRUCTURE THAT WAS ONLY BUILT TO WITH-
STAND 110 MPH WIND LOADS OR LESS, (AS WAS REQUIRED UNDER PREVIOUS EUILDING CODES) TO
RESIST THE IMPOSED LOADS OF AN ENCLOSURE THAT IS DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND THE LOADS
IMPOSED UNDER THE 140 MPH WIND LOAD SPECIFIED IN THE CURRENT BUILDING CODE.

DOORS INSTALLED IN AN ENCLOSURE THAT SURROUNDS A POOL / SPA SHALL HAVE DOOR LATCHES
INSTALLED FIVE (5) FEET ABOVE THE FLOOR, MINIMUM.
6. COPIES OF THIS ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION / DESIGN DETAIL ARE TO ONLY BE CONSIDERED VALID
FOR PERMITTING OR DESIGN CERTIFICATION PURPOSES WHEN ALL SHEETS OF ANY SUBMITTED SET BEARS
