Thank you forbuying =
an THERMEAU pool heat pump.
The THERMEAU pool heat pump is a self-contained unit designed specifically
for pool heating. Each component has been selected with care to achieve a
high -quality product in an effort to exceed all industry standards.
All THERMEAU pool heat pumps have a Scroll compressor, an electronic board
with service analyzer, a titanium heat exchanger tube warranted for 10 years
against corrosion. All components are of superior qualibj, which presents you
with an effective, state-of-the-art technology heat pump.
In general, compared to other types of pool heaters, such as gas or oil-
fired, the THERMEAU pool heat pump has a lower heating capacity on a
r3TU1hr basis. Therefore, it needs to operate for a longer time to accomplish
the desired results. Occasionally, it may be necessary to run the heat pump for
up to 24 hours per day. However, this should not be of concern to the owner
because the heater is designed to operate continuously. What's more, despite
continuous operation, it will still heat the pool far more economically than other
types of heaters.

The placement of the pool heater is very important in keeping installation
costs to a minimum while providing for maximum efficiency of operation, as
well as allowing adequate access for service and maintenance.
The THERMEAU pool heat pump is designed for outdoor installation and
should not be installed in a fully enclosed area, such as a shed, garage, etc„
unless ventilation is provided to ensure adequate air exchange for proper
operation. Recirculation of cold discharged air back into the evaporator coil
will greatly reduce unit heating capacity and efficiency.
The unit should be located as close as practical to the existing pool pump and
filter to minimize water piping. However, do not forget to provide a 18" cleat,
ance at the very least all around your heat pump.
Mount the unit on a sturdy base, preferably a concrete slab or a set of blocks.
The size of the base should not be less than 40" x 40" (100 cm x 100 cm).
All THERMEAU pool heat pump models feature patented, ultrasilent ventilation
systems. Air is pulled through the evaporator coil and discharged through the
top grille. A minimum clearance of 48 inches should be allowed above the unit
for unrestricted air discharge. The unit must not be installed under a porch. Any
side of the unit should be located at least 24 inches from a wall or from any
other obstruction for unrestricted air intake and service access.

Water piping
- The piping sequence is as follows: pool pump > filter > heater > pool. Auto-
mated chlorine distribution systems, if used, must be placed downstream of
the heater to minimize harm to the pool equipment. Use rigid PVC piping if
possible (SCH40 or SCHM). All joints shouicl be glued v,ith PVC glue. If rigid
PVC is not available, you can use Soft or flexible piping with stainless steel
clamps. When the piping installation is complete, operate the pool pump and
check the system for leaks. Then, check the filter pressure gauge to verify
that there isn't any indication of excessive pump head pressure.
You can also make the connections using high-pressure flexible hose, but
rnake sure the hose can withstand high pressure. The installation of a bypass
is net necessary unless the water flow exceeds 125 GPM.

Multiple Heat Pump Connections
All plumbing on multiple heat pump installations must be done in -parallel: An
equal flow of water to each heat pump is important for optimum operation.
(VOTE: It may be necessary to adjust viater pressure switch if a unit is installed
below the water level.
Each heat purnp allows a rnaximum flow rate of 125 gpm 1,473 Vmin) and
requires a minimum of 60 gpm (227 Vmin).

The',wiring•'of your THERMEAU pool heat pump should be performed by a
qualified electrician in accordance with local requirements.
A WARNING
The unit must always be deactivated before opening the access panel.
Bonding
®i WARNING ;
Because all metals have different electrical potentials, all metal and electrical
components of the pool system must be bonded together. This includes the
metal framework of the pool, the light, the pump, the fitter (if made out of metal),
the heater, any automatic chlorine generator, and any other metal or electrical
equipment. On some older pools, this substructure bond wire may not exist.
in these cases, a 6 to 8 foot solid copper rod must be driven into the ground
near the equipment. All electric and metal components must then be bonded
to each other, and then to the copper rod.
Bonding and Plumbing
step-by-step instructions
1. AIM lb check valve must be installed babi4een the heater
and any automatic chlorine distribution system (if used).
2. Any kind of automatic chlorine distribution systern must be
installed after or downstream of the heat pump.
3. The filter must be placed before or upstream
from the heat pump.

— In 1984 we found that bubble pack
wrapping could be used for swimming
pool covers. We added special polymers
to our plastic for strength and durability
and Solar Blanket was born.
In 1997 our team added a layer of
aluminum to our Solar Blanket that
increased its reflective value, Increasing
heat retention. The Space Age0' Solar
Blanket was born.
In 1999 our team set out to improve our
Space Ageo* Solar Blanket. We
understood that by decreasing the
space between cells, we could increase
the insulation factor. New templates
were created and Diamond Subbleo•
was born. Shaping the cells like
diamonds instead of circles decreased
the space between cells and increased
the insulating effectiveness. And after
all, diamonds are a girlos best friend.

2.1 Preparing the Light Fixture for Installation
NOTE: The electrician must complete preparatory steps before light
fixture is installed. See Figure 1.
Verify that the pool meets the requirements of the current National Electri-
cal Code® (Canadian Electrical Code, in Canada) and all local codes and
ordinances. A licensed or certified electrician must install the electrical
system to meet or exceed those requirements before the underwater light
is installed. Some of the requirements of the National Electrical Code,
which the pool electrical systems must meet, are as follows:
I. The junction box or the low -voltage transformer must be located
at least eight (8) inches (measured from the inside of the bottom of
the junction box or transformer) above the MAXIMUM water level,
OR at least four (4) inches above the ground level or pool deck,
whichever is greater. The junction -box or transformer must also be
installed at least forty-eight (48) inches (4 ft.) from the edge of the
pool. See Figure 1.
2. A standard 1.5" plastic wall / return fitting (not included) must be
installed so that the top edge of the underwater light's lens is at least
4 inches (10.2 cm) below the surface of the water in the pool.
See Figure 1..
NOTE: To be certain that the pool's electrical system meets all applicable
requirements, the electrician should also consult the local building
department.

NOTE: Always consider the cable length when calculating the input
voltage at the transformer. The maximum run of service between
transformer and lights should not exceed 150ft. in length, inclusive
of the use of J Box or not.
To the extent allowed by local installation codes in effect in the installation
jurisdiction and capacity of the electrical equipment, multiple Jandy Pro
Series lights may be controlled with a single switch and transformer so
their colors may be synchronized.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All fixtures must be tied into the same transformer,
circuit or switch for synchronization to occur. The use of Solid Core over
Stranded wire and terminating Bus Bars is strongly recomended. '
3.1 Wiring to an AquaLink'O Controller
The Jandy Pro Series Nicheless LED Lights can be controlled by an
AquaLink controller. Connect the transformer powering the lights to one
of the auxiliary relays in the AquaLink.
Refer to Figure 4 to connect the Jandy Pro Series Nicheless LED Lights to
the Power Center.

Underwater LED Light Operating Instructions
4.1 Light Synchronization
NOTE This section only applies to the color (RGBW) lights. All fixtures
must be tied into the same transformer, circuit or switch for
synchronization to occur.
1. Turn the light ON. If the light has been off for 7 seconds or longer, the
light will turn on at the last color selected.
2. To synchronize multiple lights to the same color mode, you.will need to
reset to the beginning of the color mode sequence. With the lights ON,
turn them OFF for five (5) seconds, then turn ON again. All of the lights
will reset to the Alpine White color mode. If all of the lights are not in
the Alpine White color mode, they have not been synchronized, repeat
step 2.
Nicheless Underwater LED Lights I Owner's Manual Page 11
4.2 Operating the Light
3. To change the color mode, turn the light OFF for one 1-3 seconds.
Continue turning OFF and ON until the desired light color mode is
reached. See Table I for the color mode sequence.
Example: If you followed step 3 and are now on Sky Blue and want the lights to
be Violet, then the lights must be turned off and on 7 seven times to bring you to
Violet.

the next time the lights are turned on, they will return to the last color
mode they were on prior to being turned off (Step 1 listed above). This
function allows you to keep your lights returning to your favorite color
mode every time the lights are turned back on.
NOTE To synchronize colors on multiple Jandy® Pro Series Nicheless
Underwater LED Light systems wired to separate switches,
perform the above actions on all of their switches simultaneously.
All Jandy Pro Series Nicheless Underwater LED Lights will
synchronize automatically if activated by the same switch. No
other accessories are required.

Section 5. Designer Lens Options
The Designer Lenses offer a unique set of
options for the LED Series of lights. Each
one has the ability to create unique lighting
effects within the pool's interior. See the
list below to learn more about the designer
lens options.

6t .:
HALF DOME - This escutcheon adds over the existing lens to allow you to
direct 1/2 the light in a direction you want. Downwards -to light a pools
interior without light shining upwards. Upwards to light a water feature
or sideways to put light where it might be needed but no where else
HALO LENS - This lens allows for gentle lighting in an area but knocks
down the center beam. This allows for installation on walls, etc. where
there might be an opposite wall, etc. where you want to eliminate
generating a ` hot" spot. Great general lighting but softly.
SPOT LENS - Just the opposite of the Halo. Concentrates the light and
reduces the output at wider beam angles in order to produce a spot -light
effect. Great for illuminating that special feature.
CATS EYE - This lens reduces the light to just a "slice" of light that is broad
but thin. An incredible effect for illuminating but without spilling light
all over.
DIAMOND - WOW want to really create something special? The Diamond
lens creates incredible points of light throughout the interior. The
points will be different the farther away from the light they are. Put the
LED colored light on DISCO TECH MODE AND WATCH THE FUN
BEGIN!
