4. Permitting:
a. A separate permit and review is required from the Fire Marshal's office and
artment for the installation of the automatic Sprinkler system. (See
Building Dep
attached requirements).
b. A separate permit and review is required from the Fire Marshal's office and the
Building Department for the installation of the fire alarm system. (See attached
requirements).

c. A separate permit and review is required from the Fire Marshal's and the
Building Departmentoffice for the hood and duct exhaust ventilation system in the
kitchen.
d. A separate permit and review is required from the Fire Marshal's office and the
Building Department for the fixed fire protection system that is required for the hood,
duct and suifiace protection system.
e. A separate permit and review is required from the Fire Marshal's office and the
Building Department for the installation of the underground flammable and
combustible liquid storage tanks. Four (4)Sets of plans and specifications shall be
submitted to The St. Lucie County Department .of Environmental Health for their
review and ;stamp. (See attached requirements).
5. Panic Hardware
Note 2. Material key legend, sheet A- 9.1 referring to signage that the doors must
remain unlocked.
ThelLife Safety Code NFPA 101, permits a lock or latch only if they are panic
hardware when serving an occupant load in excess of 100 persons. The exception
being, that,the panic hardware is not required for the main entrance/exit when
serving an ;occupant load of less than 200 persons. Because the occupant load is
over 200 persons, panic hardware will be required on all of the following doors.
101-01, 101-02, 138-63, 139-63, 37A-62, and 115-37.
6. Automatic Sprinkler system:
a. ;Fire Department Connection. The F.D.C. is indicated in two locations. One is
wall mounted near the riser and the other is free standing. The F.D.C. may be either
free standing or wall mounted but, a dry pipe system requires that the F.D.0 be
connected to the system riser between the system control valve and the dry pipe
valve as indicated on sheet FS-2

b. The automatic sprinkler plans and calculations shall be signed and sealed by
the architects engineer of record. The architect shall forward a letter to the Fire
Marshal's office indicating who the engineer of record will be. The engineer of
record shall indicate the Point of Service on the Site Plan. The Point of Service
shall be where the underground piping becomes exclusively for the automatic
sprinkler system. This will be at the Tee separating the domestic and fire main.
The sprinkler, calculations shall be carried back to the point of the fire flow test
hydrant. Thelcontractors plans need not be signed or sealed by the engineer of
record if the design has not changed.
Provide additional information on the dry pipe valve, indicating the pressure pump,
accelerators l'. etc.
The system indicated is a manual system with a internal audible alarm and visual
indicating appliances. N.F.P.A. 101 requires a voise evacuation system in
accordance with 101-8-3.4.
a. lhitiatioh' shall be by manual means (pull stations) provided with a emergency
powe, source. The initiating device shall be capable of transmitting an alarm to a
receiving station, located within the building, that is continuously attended when the
assembly occupancy is occupied.
b. Notification: The required fire alarm system shall sound an audible alarm in a
constantly attended receiving station within the building when occupied for the
purpose of initiating emergency action.
c. „Occupant notification shall be by voice announcements, either live or
pre-recorded, initiated by the person in the constantly attended location.
d. The announcement shall be made via an approved voice communication or
public address system, provided with an emergency power source, that is audible
abo�e the ambient noise level of the assembly occupancy.
e. ,A single manual pull station will be required at the constantly attended location
which, when activated will initiate the visual indicating appliances.
