Please accept this letter in response to your written request received October 15, 2019 to waive
the finished floor elevation of 18" above the crown of the road. The waiver request is for a
proposed single family residence located at 3020 Johnston Rd., Ft Pierce.

Pursuant to Section 7.04.01(C-3) of the St Lucie County Land Development Code, the Planning
and Development Services Director has the authority to grant administrative relief, when
topographical conditions are such that compliance with thus subsection would be impracticable

or cause grade level conditions detrimental to adjacent or nearby properties, consistent with the

intent of the Flood Protection regulations and any other applicable portion of this Code.
The Planning and Development Services Director has granted your request for administrative

DISTRICT 4 1. The proposed single family residence is located in Flood Zone X.
2. The proposed finished floor elevation will be 21.5' NAVD which is equal with the
elevation of the crown of the road and the required elevation for septic tank per the Health

3. The elevation of the center line of the adjacent road is 21.5 NAVD.
4. The existing grade is at 17.66' which requires approximately 5.5 foot of fill to meet the

costly.

This is to request a waiver on the 18" above crown of the road. Per recent road paving, entrance to
Monte Carlo was raised approximately 1 foot from center line of the north edge of property. The proposed
house is 360 plus feet from the road. Per Health Department we need to be at 21.5' elevation which
requires 4 foot of fill. To be 18" above the road the house would have to be at 23' elevation which
would be 5.5' of fill. We feel this elevation is extremely high and costly for the extra fill. Please
consider approval for this waiver as the owner feels the 4' above existing ground is already extremely high.
