Please be advised that solar panels cannot exceed the maximum unit height, which is twenty-two feet from the flood plain level (base flood elevation), plus one foot as per St. Lucie County Building code. Please adhere to all Nettles Island governing documents including, but not limited to the Nettles Island Procedures Governing Contractor and building activity on Nettles Island, and if required provide us with a copy of the permit before commencing. Also, please be advised that all Architectural approvals issued by Nettles Island are valid for six (6) months. If additional time is needed, owners must submit supporting documentation to request an additional six (6) months. By approving the plans and specifications, neither the Architectural Committee or the members thereof, the Association, the Board, its employees and representatives assumes any liability or responsibility therefore, or for any defect in any structure constructed there from, and said persons further specifically exclude from such approval any implied warranty ofinerchantability and fitness for any purpose. r, - June 28, 2017 Dear building official, nniidn Solar Ffiwigy Imhunies Acsocindan SCANNEu BY St. Lucie Cnur On June 23r1 of 2017 Governor Rick Scott signed HB 1021 amending 377.705 of Florida Statute authorizing solar energy systems manufactured or sold in the state to be certified by professional engineers. In effect a Florida Solar Energy Center, (FSEQ certification is no longer required by state statute for materials or systems to be sold or installed in the state of Florida. On page 6, lines 138-144 read; All solar energy systems sold in the state must meet the standards established by the center and shall display accepted results or approved performance tests in a manner prescribed by the center, unless otherwise certified by an engineer licensed pursuant to chapter 471 using the standards contained in the most recent version of the Florida Building Code. Please find HB 1021 attached for your convenience.
