Photos taken on March 9, 2018, shows a new boatlift, and dock over an existing paver deck. The
photos taken on January 28, 2019, show the new dock cut back to the center of the seawall,
resting on the seawall, and a new elevated paver deck installed above the seawall surface.
We had a meeting in January 2019 with the new unit owner, building official (Gary Stepalavich),
zoning tech (Lydia Galbraith), and myself (William Durden), to help direct the new unit owner
of what would be required to comply with the current codes.
We directed new unit owner that the new dock would need to be relocated to the seaward side of
the seawall, because the seawall was common area and not owned by the unit owner. The new
dock would need to be self-supporting on the seaward side.
We also directed the new unit owner that the paver deck would need to finish flush with the
surface of the seawall and not over top of the seawall.
The owner applied for a new permit on October 25, 2019, with plans showing existing conditions
not meeting the requirements specified above. Plan review comments were sent out on
November 5, 2019.

I am writing this letter in regards to Mr. Hammer's current deck and paving
stones. The current deck located at 800 Osprey Court, Fort Pierce, FL 34949 is not
infringing on any home owners nor is it a nuisance to Ocean Resorts. The deck is
not breaking any Rules and Regulations nor By -Laws and can be left just the way it
is.

After review of the conditions located on the property above, we have determined that the existing
concrete seawall/bulkhead is more than adequate to support the weight of the dock & pavers. I
hereby Certify as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida that this installed condition will
not negatively impact the original design of seawall & can remain in the as -installed condition.
Calculation Summary:
Dock Weight Section Supported by Wall: 30psf x 196sf / 2/ 201f = 147.5 plf
Paver Deck Weight Supported by Wall: 11psf x 0.5ft x 20ft = 5.5 plf
Total Additional Weight Evaluated on Concrete Seawall = 153 plf
Allowable Weight on Existing Seawall = 500 plf > 153 plf PASS,
