Statement of Compliance:
The Rolling Sheet Doors described in this report were evaluated to be in compliance with the
2010 Florida Building Code. 'Me doors are, for the purpose intended, at least equivalent to that
required by the Code when manufactured and installed as described below.
Description of the Product
Sheet Doors - General
Ihe curtain on Model 203 is suspended from a light -duty coiling system about which the curtain is
coiled as the curtain is raised. In the closed position, the sides of the curtain are constrained from
lateral movement along their vertical edges by steel guides that are attached to the door jambs. This
constraint provides resistance to lateral wind forces. The lateral wind forces are transferred from the
curtain to the guides and then through the attachment elements to the door jamb. Windlocks are
attached to each side of the curtain. These windlocks engage the guides to help restrain the curtain
under wind load. The door jambs are part of the main wind frame resisting system and usually are
constructed of steel, concrete, or concrete masonry units. The bottom bar consists of a cold formed
galvanized steel J-shape plus an aluminum extrusion.
Guides are made using a cold -formed shape with a separate cold-forined insert bar attached to the
guide. This bar is designed to engage the windlocks when the door is under wind load. Attachment
of the guides to steel jambs is made directly through the guide. Attachment to concretejambs is
made through steel brackets attached to the guide. The test door qualified the doorb frachment to

Sheet Doors —Model 203
'Me curtain is made of Galvanized (ASTM A653-G60) steel sheet finished with a baked epoxy primer
and baked polyester top coat. The 26 gage sheet has a specified minimum yield strength of 80000 psi.
'Me sheet is cold -formed into a corrugated shape. Style variations may include door width, height, and
wind load rating, or any combination. Maximum door height is limited to 21'-0". Model 203 is
described in detail on a drawing for the size door tested.

Model 203 was tested at Certified Testing Laboratories, Orlando, Florida.

contained in this report:
* Test Report No.: CTLA 3001W, dated February 20,2014, design wind load: +35 / -35 psf
Calculations:
A comparative analysis was made to determine the maximum pressure that could be applied for
various width doors based on using the same guides and anchors used in the test door. The pressures
shown in Table I are these maximum design load values. These design pressures will exert forces on
the guides and anchors equal to or less than those calculated for the test door. The calculations dated
02/28/14 for door widths 8'-0" to 20'-0" were prepared by Joseph H Dixon, Jr. P.E. and sealed

Installation requirements are described in the following ASTA Door Corporation Installation

Limitations and Conditions of use:
The use of the door is limited to buildings for which the design wind loads for wall components
and cladding, determined in accordance with Section 1609 of the 2010 Florida Building Code,
do not exceed the rated design wind loads of the door as shown in the above Table 1.
The maximum width and height limitations are shown in Table 1.
Door manufacturing is limited to those plants that have met the 2010 Florida Building Code
Product Approval quality assurance requirements.
Doors are to be assembled as shown on the appropriate drawing referenced above, and the doors
are to be installed in accordance with the installation instructions referenced above.
The doors covered by Us report are not for use in the Florida High -Velocity Hurricane Zone.

POSSIBLE. ALLOW ROOM TO SPIN THE DOOR. DO NOT
ALLOW THE DOOR CUFRAIN TO SCRAPE THE HEADER.
DO NOT USE FORKLIFTS OR GENIE LIFTS WITH
UNPROTECTED ARMS(FORKS. THIS CAN CAUSE
IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO DOOR CURTWN.
I STEP #6 - PRE -TENSION SPRINGS I
A. INSTALL CRAIN CUP (66) APPROXIMATELY 4-0- ABOVE FLOOR
ON CHAIN OPERATED DOORS. INSTALLATION MUST BE SECURE
B. APPLY PRE -TENSION TO THE SPRINGS BY ROTATING THE DOOR
TWO (2) TURNS IN A FORWARD DIRECTION (SEE DIAGRAM 16).
THE BOTTOM ANGLE IS TO BE IN A 6 O'CLOCK POSITION.

A, THE HEAD STOPS ON THE GUIDES SHOULD BE NO MORE
THAN 1" HIGHER (TO BOTTOM OF: STOPS) THAN THE DOOR
HEADER. IF NOT, OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE GUIDES TO MATCH
YOUR OPENING HEIGHT AND RELOCATE SLIDE BOLT NOTCH
AT BOTTOM OF GUIDE.
B. MODELS 201, 201HD, 2M 202HD. 205: RAISE THE DOOR
CURTAIN So THE BOTTOM ANGLE IS APPROXIMATELY 3- BELOW
THE HEADER. SLIDE THE GUIDE OVER THE DOOR CURTAIN AND
POSITION AGAJNSTTHE DOOR OPENING ALLOWING 3/8'
CLEARANCE FROM EDGE OF CURTAIN TO INSIDE THE GUIDE.
INSTALL THE TOP FASTENERS. LOWER
CURTAIN INTO GUIDESSLOWLY. r

TENSION IS REQUIRED. (SEE DIAGRAM 17)
FOR ALL DOOR DRIVES: BEFORE ADJUSTING THE
SPRINGS, PULL THE DOORS INTO THE UP POSITION.
SECURE THE DOOR BY THE FOLLOWING METHODS:
1. TIE A ROPE AROUND THE DOOR RO"
2. PLACEA CLAMP AT THE TOP OF THE GUIDE CHANNEL TO
SECURE THE CURTAIN IN THE GUIDES.
WHEN THE AXLE CLAMPS ARE LOOSENED, THE WRI14GS
WILL BE VERY STRONG. YOU WILL NEED TWO PEOPLETC
ADJU9TTHE DOOR TENSK)N SAFELY.
1, EACH PERSON SHOULD FIRMLY PLACE A LARGE PIPE
WRENCH ON THE AXLE (SEE DIAGRAM (17). LOOSEN THE
AXLE CLAMPS AND PULL DOWN FOR MORE TENSION AND
UP FOR LESS TENSION. FOR POCKET WHEEL REDUC71ON
DRIVE DOORS, REMEMBER TO LOOSEN SET SCREWS
PRIOR TO ADJUSTMENT AND RETIGHTEN SECURELY
AFTER ADJUSTMENT.
2. RIFTIGHTEN THE AXLE CLAMP HARDWARE.
3. REPEAT ABOVE STEPS IF FURTHER ADJUSTMENT IS
NECESSARY. BEGIN AT STEP 68.

ADJUSTMENT.
D. CHECK GUIDES FOR FOREIGN MATTER SUCH AS DIRT, ETC.
E. CHECK FOR DAMAGED GUIDES.
F. ADJUST LEAD-IN BEND AT TOP INSIDE OF GUIDES.

DOWN TO FLOOR LEVEL INSTALL A DRUM WEDGE ON SIDE OF
