RE: Storm Shutters
Larry,
I have reviewed the window info sent from Jennifer at Modspace. If you can give me product approval for
hurricane shutters I will look it over for compliance * The windows installed are a -50 which tells me that would be the
design pressure required for the 160 m.p.h. zone approved by the state .
Thanks

Larry,
There are [ 2 ] sections to the Florida Building Code. High Velocity Zone pertains to Dade and Broward counties
and the rest of Florida falls outside of the HVHZ . The Florida Product approval for the shutters would be fine [ non hvhz
if that is o.k. with your design professional.
Thanks

Please accept this letter in response to your written request dated June 22, 2015 to waive the finished floor
elevation of 18" above the crown of the road. The waiver request is for 2 proposed temporary Modular office
units for Prima Vista Power Station Site at 6375 S US 1, Port St Lucie.
Pursuant to Section 7.04.01(C-3) of the St Lucie County Land -Development Code, the Planning and

conditions are such that compliance with this subsection would be impracticable or cause grade level
conditions detrimental to adjacent or nearby property, consistent with the intent of the Flood Protection
regulations and any other applicable portion of this Code.
The Planning and Development Services Director has granted your request for administrative relief of the
finished floor elevation based on the following determinations:
1) The property is not in a Flood Zone.
2) The proposed buildings are at least 285' away from US-1.
3) Compliance would be impracticable.
4) The existing Power Plant is 4' below the center line of the road (9.49'AVD).
5) The finished floor elevation will be 10.75' NAVD, which is 2.71' below the centerline of the road.
This approval does not in any way constitute authorization to begin construction. Prior to the
commencement of any construction on this property, an application for specific building permit must be
obtained from this department.
