1. Regarding calculations for overturning of the concrete base, our formula for depth of the ground tube (10% of the exposed height) is
empirical and has been found to be satisfactory for average soil conditions. The only purpose of the concrete base -is to transmit
overturning forces to the surrounding soil.
2. Where unusual soil conditions prevail, it is assumed that the project designers will take whatever steps they consider necessary. It is
impractical for the pole manufacturer to assume this responsibility.
All flagpole design calculations are in accordance with GUIDE SPECIFICATIONS FOR DESIGN LOADS OF METAL FLAGPOLES,
ANSUNAAMM FP 1001-07 Fifth ed.
