Good morning Brad,
The foundation permit for the bag house has been issued as of this morning which you had requested . Revisions
are modifications or changes to components or claddings of a building permit that were part of that initial permit . The
bag house will be on a separate permit, which had been previously discussed as a condition to release the foundation
permit, of which we can include the electrical and mechanical as a part of that permit if requested. The fees will be
based upon all costs inclusive of the costs of the bag house, installation, electrical and mechanical work to be
performed.
I have spoken to the electric and mechanical reviewers and they can be available tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. for our
meeting.
Thank you Brad for your help

As you know, we submitted a permit for the foundation for the Bag House. We now _need _to submit -for the bag
house. Can the bag house permit be a part of the foundation or does it have to be a separate permit and fee?

RE: Liberty Tire Bag house dwgs
I have opened and reviewed the letters and plan you have e-mailed for the Liberty Tire filter bag house . I
see within the plans that there is a foundation dimension from upright center to center but no wind loads provided for
the vertical structure. The only loading I see is a note stating 25 psf which would have to be converted to ASCE7-10 and
Chapter 16 of the 2014 Florida Building code criteria with an end result specifying the required wind speed and exposure
required by the building code. There are many variables to be concerned with such as sliding, overturning, up -lifting etc.
which must be calculated by a Florida Licensed Design Professional .
I have pulled the foundation plans and Ahmadreza Sedaghat P.E. has designed the foundation and bolting and
has made no comment regarding the vertical bag house structure.
I understand that Mikropul cannot certify this structure via their letter, so you may take your plans to your
foundation engineer and have him perform the structural calculations for this structure and affix them to the plans you
have. We will need submittal in triplicate for this. The calculations would have to meet the above stated criteria for the
wind speed and exposure and be signed, sealed and dated original format. -
The mechanical plan reviewer has asked the question of"what type of dust and particles will be digested into
the filter " so that he will state what is needed for the mechanical plans
The electric plan reviewer has asked for full electrical plans for review
You may also wish to meet with the Fire Department with the above information to see what their requirements
may be

These filters in like new condition are 99.96% efficient when applied to wood dust at an air -to -cloth ratio
less than 10 to 1 and running at a pressure drop between 2-4" W.G. If the inlet dust loading concentration
does not exceed 5 grains per cubic foot, and it is typically no more than 3 grains per foot, then the outlet
dust concentration is 0.0012 grains per cubic foot of air, which is lower than the EPA standard.
At 3 grains per cubic foot = (6879 mg/cu.m.) times 99.96% efficient equals an outlet dust concentration of

It seems to me after this clarification that the proposed alteration is more like installed equipment on already
impervious area than a building that requires site plan alteration.
That said, I believe we should discuss whether we need a threshold to insure a site is still safe (our primary concern in an
IH zoned parcel) in the case of a proliferation of excess installed equipment.

Leslie,
As we discussed yesterday, we are proposing to add a bag house to the Liberty Tire facility out on Rangeline. I found out
since we spoke yesterday that a bag house is like a big vacuum. When the tires are shredded it creates a dust. These
bag houses collect that dust. It actually is improving the air quality on the property. We are in for a building permit and
it was stated that we needed a site plan amendment to add the bag house. We determined yesterday that there were
y
no thresholds that would require t„.'site plan amendment. I.wanted to see if,,-- .iave had a chance to speak with
