IO,
Good afternoon Joe,
Thank you for the update on the plan review process for permit #1510-0106. The Comments page is showing
this project as a commercial renovation. Once again it seems I need to clarify that we have applied for a
change of use permit not a renovation. The renovation work in this unit was completed under permit # SLC-
0,9 062 ack in 2010 therefore the additional electrical and mechanical pages being requested are already on
i e wr t e building department. The only change we are making is to add the utility sink, as per your verbal
instructions to me, and a plumbing permit has been applied for.
I understand the need for an updated floor plan including the Life Safety'information which we have provided
and II willaskthe architect to add the "standing room" calculation to the plan.
I do question the requested water fountain. As we discussed at our meeting, this property is on well & septic
and there are no plans for public waterlines in the foreseeable future. To install a water fountain would be a
health hazard if the well or pump should fail. There is an electric water cooler on the premises as was
required to receive our CO in 2010. —
It should not come as a surprise to you that this process has been extremely lengthy and stressful to me and our
tenant. There does not seem to be any accurate forms, instructions or procedures in place for this type of
permit. All of my instructions have been given to me verbally and depending on who I spoke with the
requirements changed. I will request a meeting with Carl and Monica to try and assist the County to make this
process more seamless and less confusing.
We have already received approval from the Fire Department as well as conditional approval from the planning
& development department pending this plan review. Please respond to my comments at your earliest
convenience.
Sincerely,
Maddie Williams

Good afternoon to you as well Maddie,
Thank you for your e-mail and concerns which I will address as best I can. All of our changes of occupancy
permits or changes of classification within the same occupancy are placed under the " commercial renovation "tracking
code , however the full change of occupancy is noted on the permit description which includes construction types,
occupant loads, square footages, fire sprinklers and other pertinent information relevant to this scope of the permit.
I will obtain the plans for the renovation work performed under permit number 0910-0062 and ask the mechanical
and electrical reviewers if the plans that they are requesting are acceptable for this permit and I will also check with the
plumbing reviewer regarding the drinking fountain.
I am here to assist you and the contractor in any way I can so if you need anything please feel free to call or e-mail
I will be back in touch with you with up dated info as soon as I receive the plans
Thank You
