This enclosure upgrade design was completed on Drawing # CAI-2007-017, Revision 0, dated July 25, 2007. I am issuing this letter to be attached to the above - mentioned drawing to further explain the status of the existing patio slab. On July 25, 2007, I visited the above site to determine the upgrade requirements needed to bring the enclosure into compliance with the Florida Building Code, including the Aluminum Association of Florida's "Guidelines to Aluminum Construction in High Wind Area". The patio slab was also examined and found that it met the minimum requirements; it was in "good overall condition". On August 7, 2007, after finding out the patio slab was not installed under a proper permit, I requested the patio slab be checked for thickness. After an inspection of the slab thickness, by digging at the edges, it appears the slab has a nominal thickness of 4 inches". Therefore, the slab has been deemed acceptable to adequately support the screen enclosure.
