Measurements: FE&T measured the metal roof deck thickness with calibrated calipers and determined that the deck thickness is 20 gauge. Additionally, the steel bar joist roof supports were measured to be spaced at a maximum of 5 ft. o.c. Conclusions: We were able to determine that the existing steel roof deck is in general accordance with the product approval requirements of a minimum 22 ga. steel deck with supports spaced at a maximum of 6 ft. o.c.
