in 1954. The Executive Director conducts the
day to day operations of the organization
under a Board of Directors. The Arcs
self-governing character is demonstrated
by full management policy, controlled by a
self perpetuating Board which elects its own
members. Management and policy decisions
are based on the premise that people must
be able to make their own choices.

The Arc offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of
adults 18 years or olderwithintellectual and developmental
disabilities. Days of operation for our center based services
are Monday through Friday, 250 days a year.

Adult Day Training (ADT) programs offer opportunity for
individuals 22years of age and older to obtain and improve
their skills, which encourages them to access activities and
relationships of their choice. The ADT program offers
education, community integration, socialization,
pre -vocational skills and recreation. Many of the individuals
volunteer at local businesses honing their employment skills.
The Arc partners with United Way and Indian River State
College (IRSC) to offer a non-credit class, Vocational
Education for Students With Disabilities. This class is taught
by an adjunct instructor from the ADT program in a classroom
