A structural analysis was performed as a requirement of the building department to
ensure the structural adequacy the subject work for the acquisition of a formal building
permit. Please be advised that I performed the structural analysis to ensure that the
predicted wind pressures corresponding to a site -specific wind speed of 170 MPH do not
exceed the design wind pressure capacity of the roofing cover materials per product
approvals. The work consists of the following design and construction:
1. Tearing off the existing roof material to deck
2. Re -nail to code.
3. Installing TriBuilt underlayment (FL 16048-113) direct to deck. — Section
5.6.4.1, page 4 of 5: Maximum Design Pressure = -45.0 psf
4. Installing 1" Standing Seam Aluminum roof in kynar finish (FL 17022.5- R2).
The design ASD (Allowed Stress Design) wind pressure differentials, Dp, of the PA
(Product Approval) used in this project and included with this report is 45.0 psf. The
nominal, ASD wind pressures predicted by the WLS4 ASCE 7-10 by SDG (Reports
included) are 37.8 psf (60% of the peak pressure which do not exceed the design wind
pressures of 45.0 psf.
Therefore, the roof cover products specified for the subject roofing project are
appropriate and in full compliance with the FBC 2014 (5"' Edition).
