Building B — South Building — Unit 209
Demolition has been in progress an almost complete except that at the east door additional excavation is
required due to severely corroded bars found under the east door track.
Observations
Slab edges
The slab edges and surface spalls have been excavated. There are (4) pt cables along the north edge that
where the existing anchors were located too far back in from the slab edges. New cables and anchors
were placed by the PT specialist to repair the slab edge. All reinforcing at these areas have been cleaned
and coated with a corrosion inhibitor and this area can be poured.
Surface spalls
East Door
The bars are severely corroded with a greater than 20% loss of sections under the door going into the unit.
New #6 additional reinforcing is required to be either spliced with the proper lap lengths or epoxy anchor
new dowels with a minimum of 6" epoxy embedment. A dust wall will be required at this door.
North Door
The reinforcing at these areas do not need replacement and the existing bars can be cleaned and coated.
The sliding glass doors can remain, however the door track anchors in the bottom track are to be replaced
with new diameter stainless steel tapcons with 1" max embedment in holes sealed with polyurethane
sealant. It appears that moisture was migrating into the slab through the existing fastener holes which
contributed to the deterioration.
North wall
There is one deteriorated bar in the north south direction coming out of the wall that needs replacement.
Provide new #4 dowel with 4" epoxy embedment and lapped to the existing bar.

Observations
Demolition was complete at the balcony edges but further demolition is required at the ceiling and surface
areas noted on the repair plan.
Reinforcing has been cleaned and coated as per specs, additional support chairs are required under bottom

Pour between the cables as sequenced by the post tension sub -contractor. PT cables may be restressed
only after a minimum compressive strength of 3,000 psi has been achieved.
Continue demolition at other deteriorated areas as plan.

Demolition has been -in progress an almost complete except that at the east door additional excavation is
required due to severely corroded bars found under the east door track.
Observations : - - -
Slab edges
The slab edges and surface "spalls have bien excavated.
The sliding glass doors can remain, however the door track anchors in the bottom track are to be replaced
with new r/4" diameter stainless steel tapcons with 1" max embedment in holes sealed with polyurethane
sealant. It appears that moisture was migrating into the slab through the existing fastener holes which
contributed to the deterioration.
North wall
There is one deteriorated bar in the north south direction coming out of the wall that needs replacement.
Provide new 44 dowel with 4" epoxy embedment and lapped to the existing bar.
