MOISTURE SURVEY
ACRC #: 16-0331 MSA
Page: 5
SCOPE
• A non-destructive procedure to test for the presence of moisture in roof system assemblies.
• Subsequence destructive core sampling and laboratory testing performed to determine moisture
content by weight and calibrate the Impedance Readings.
• The moisture grid measurements may vary slightly along the building edges and should not be
used to determine the exact dimensions of the roof area.
• Moisture contents over 5% in the roofing membrane, and over $% in the insulation are considered
not suitable to roof over, per the Florida Building Code, Section 1521.12.
• This test has been conducted in accordance with TAS-126 of the test protocols for the High
velocity Hurricane Zone of the 2014 Florida Building Code.
CONCLUSION/
This roof covering is within the acceptable range of moisture content. Note that a TAS 126 moisture
survey applies to the roof covering only, and does not refer to the LWC. However, high Levels of
moisture (over 30%) were found in the lightweight concrete. Per Sect.1521.12 of the 2014 building
code testing for moisture content in lightweight concrete, gypsum or cementitious wood fiber decks
is not required. It is possible to dry out the lightweight concrete by installing one-way vents every
1,000 square feet. Or by removin the roof covering and allowing the deck to dry for several hours

PURPOSE
Testing to determine the strength of a deck and the Predicted Design Value for Fastener Pull -Out
Resistance. This value is calculated using statistical analysis based on 95% probability. The test
procedures used in this TAS-105 provides a means of determining. whether a particular mechanical
fastener, when used to attach any Roofing Component to a specific substrate, provides sufficient
resistance to static uplift force to meet the wind load requirements for this code for a specific building.
OBSERVATIONS
The deck in the sample locations appeared in satisfactory condition.
Based on the TAS-105 "Fastener withdrawal testing" this deck has met the requirements for
resistance in accordance with the Florida Building Code (2014) and the afore -mentioned TAS-
105 protocol.

• Moisture contents over 5% in the roofing membrane, and over 8% in the insulation are considered
not suitable to roof over, per the Florida Building Code, Section 1521.12.
• This test has been conducted in accordance with TAS-126 of the test protocols for the High
velocityHurricane Zone of the 2014 Florida Building Code.
CONCLUSION
The roof is within acceptable moisture ranges and is suitable to re -roof or recover.

PURPOSE
Testing to determine the strength of a deck and the Predicted Design Value for Fastener Pull -Out
Resistance. This value is calculated using statistical analysis based on 95% probability. The test
procedures used in this TAS-105 provides a means of determining whether a particular mechanical
fastener, when used to attach any Roofing Component to a specific substrate, provides sufficient
resistance to static uplift force to meet the wind load requirements for this code for a specific building.
OBSERVATIONS
The deck in the sample locations appeared in satisfactory condition.
CONCLUSION
Based on the TAS-105 "Fastener withdrawal testing" this deck has met the requirements for resistance
in accordance with the Florida Building Code (2014) and the afore -mentioned TAS-105 protocol.

PURPOSE
Testing to determine the strength of a deck and the Predicted Design Value for Fastener Pull -Out
Resistance. This value is calculated. using statistical analysis based on 95% probability. The test
procedures used in this TAS-105 provides a means of determining whether a particular mechanical
fastener, when used to attach any Roofing Component to a specific substrate, provides sufficient
resistance to static uplift force to meet the wind load requirements for this code for a specific building.
OBSERVATIONS
The deck in the sample locations appeared in satisfactory condition.
CONCLUSION
Based on the TAS-105 "Fastener withdrawal_ testing" this deck has met the requirements for resistance
in accordance with the Florida Building Code (2014) and the afore -mentioned TAS=105 protocol.

• Moisture contents over 5% in the roofing membrane, and over 8% in the insulation are considered
not suitable to roof over, per the Florida Building Code, Section 1521.12.
• This test has been conducted in accordance with TAS-126 of the test protocols for the High
velocity Hurricane Zone of the 2014 Florida Building Code.
CONCLUSION
The roof is within acceptable moisture ranges and is suitable to re -roof or recover.

MOISTURE SURVEY
ACRC #: 16-0331 NIS—A
Page: 5
CONCLUSION
• This roof covering is within the acceptable range of moisture content. Note that a TAS 126
moisture survey applies to the roof covering only, and does not refer to the LWC. However,
low levels of moisture (below 30%) were found in the lightweight concrete and are within
industry standards. Per Section 1521.12 testing for moisture content in lightweight concrete,
gypsum or cementitious wood fiber is not required.
• The two (2) cores collected during re -test at grid lines3-E and 3-H showed.that lightweight concrete
and roof system was removed and replaced with new Single ply TPO over Polyiso insulation board
• Result of gravimetric analysis: Acceptable moisture content in the Polviso board.
• Original report was issued on August 41h. 2016
