1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: Submit product data for each type of product used on project with full model
number.
B. Hardware Schedule:
1. Submit hardware schedule detailing hardware to be provided at each opening for
coordination with gates frames, fence posts and related work.
2. For load bearing hardware provide product information showing quantity and type of
hardware recommended by manufacturer to safely carry weight of gate and other applied
loads.
3. For keyed hardware devices, coordinate keying requirements with Owner, and indicate
number of keys to be provided with each hardware unit.

C. Installation Instructions: Submit manufacturer's installation instruction for each hardware
device. Mark installation instructions to indicate mounting heights for all operable hardware
showing compliance with applicable code requirements.
D. Warranty: Submit copy of manufacturer's warranty for each product.
E. Extra Materials: Provide 2 keys with each lockable latch (manufacturer's standard quantity),
extra parts, accessories, and tools normally provided by manufacturer with installed hardware

2.1 PRODUCTS
A. Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide the following D&D Technologies
gate latch and lock products. No substitution.

B. MagnaLatch Family of Products:
1. Top Pull Series 3 model (Self -latching magnetic latch):
a. Product Description:
1) The ultimate pool safety gate latch, the Top Pull Series 3 (S3) model is
designed for swimming pool gates but can be installed on any gate where
child safety is important. It is designed to extend above the height of the
fence to keep the release knob out of reach of children.
2) Magnetic triggering means there is no mechanical jamming during closure
and stops the latch from disengaging due to shaking the gate.
3) MagnaLatch incorporates 'Lost Motion Technology' which allows the latch
to engage even if accidentally locked while the gate is open.
4) S3 models have a Visible Lock Indicator to show you at -a -glance whether it
is locked or unlocked.
5) S3 models include a rekeyable 6-pin lock to match other locks around the
property making safety more convenient and added safety.
6) S3 models have Alignment Indicators for knowing when a gate is in or out
of proper alignment.

7) S3 includes an innovative T-track mounting system for ease of alignment
and superior fixing strength.
8) Vertical and horizontal adjustment allows fine-tuning during or after
installation to overcome gate misalignment.
9) Made from super -strong engineering polymers and stainless steel
construction that will not rust.
10) Permanent magnets never lose strength and are sealed from the elements to
prevent corrosion.
11) For use on pool gates of 48" (1,200mm) or higher. Always confirm local
fence / barrier regulations before installation.
2. Vertical Pull Series 3 model (Self -latching magnetic latch):
a. Product Description:
1) The Vertical Pull Series 3 (S3) model offers the same features as the Top
Pull Model S3 but in a shorter, more compact body.
2) It is suitable for mounting on taller pool gates where it will still be out of
reach of children, as well as on garden or household gates to provide a
reliable safety barrier.
3) The Vertical Pull Series 3 is an ideal Pet Security latch as it cannot be
shaken open thus preventing pets from escaping. It also keeps pets safe
from unwanted intruders.
4) Like the Top Pull Model, the Vertical Pull offers easy adjustment and is
key -lockable for added safety.
5) Vertical Pull is for use on pool gates of 60" (1,500mm) or higher. Always
confirm local fence / barrier regulations before installation.

1) Magnetic self -latching. No mechanical jamming during closure.
2) Meets international barrier / safety codes.
3) Visual Lock Indicator for knowing when latch is locked or unlocked.

2) Round Post Adaptor Kit (fits MagnaLatch Series 2 ONLY): Optional kit for
mounting Top Pull and Vertical Pull models to gates and fences with round

chain link and railing diameters. Fits fence post diameters of 1-7/8" — 2-7/8"
(48-73mm) and gate frames from 1-3/8" — 1-5/8" (35mm-41mm).
3) NOTE: White models and round post adapter kit currently available only
with the MagnaLatch Series 2. Look for these to be available for Series 3 in
the future.
ALERT Child Safety Gate Latch with Electronic Alarm

available with an optional electronic alarm system integrated into the latch.

4. Side Pull Model (Self -latching magnetic latch):
a. Product Description:
1) The MagnaLatch Side Pull Model is a general-purpose, magnetic gate latch
that offers simple, effective latching for home and garden gates. It
incorporates D&D's `Lost Motion Technology'.
2) Magnetic triggering means there is no mechanical jamming during closure
3) The footprint is very small and unobtrusive.
4) The standard Side Pull model does not come with a built-in lock. The
lockable version is found below.
5) It offers vertical and horizontal adjustment of up to 5/16" (8mm) for quick
installation, and to overcome gate misalignment over time.
6) Decorative dress caps are included for a stylish finish.
7) Spacers are included to fit onto fence posts and gates frames as small as 1"
(25mm).
8) The Side Pull can be used on picket style swimming pool gates as long as a
compliant shield is used to prevent latch access by a toddler. Always
confirm local fence / barrier regulations before installation.

9) The Lockable Side Pull model offers the same features as the standard Side
Pull yet contains a built-in key lock for added peace of mind.
10) It incorporates D&D's `Lost Motion Technology' which allows the latch to
engage even if the latch is accidentally locked while the gate is open.
11) The lockable Side Pull has the same fixing -hole pattern as the original Side
Pull so it's ideal for retrofit upgrades where a lock is desirable.

1) LokkLatch Round Post gravity latch offers the same features as the
LokkLatch Series 2 and makes them available for most round post
applications.
2) Can accommodate gate gaps of 1" to 2" (25-50mm).
3) Fits gate frame diameters of 1-3/8" and 1-5/8" (35 and 41mm) and fence
post diameters of 1-7/8" to 2", 2-3/8 and 2-7/8" (48 to 50, 60, 73mm).

PART 3-EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Examine gate frames and fence posts, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements
for gate hardware installation tolerances, assembly construction, and other conditions affecting
performance.
B. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.2 PREPARATION
A. Prepare gate frames and fence posts in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions.
Any existing gate hardware must be removed before installation. Apply the proper corrosion
protection and finish to any exposed screw hole or area left over from the removal of existing
hardware before installation of D&D Technologies' hardware.
3.3 INSTALLATION
A. Install each hardware items to comply with manufacturer's installation instructions, building
code requirements, and requirements of Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
B. Install hardware types and quantities indicated on submitted hardware schedule.
C. Do not install surface -mounted hardware until substrate finishes have been completed.
D. Set all gates, fence posts and gate hardware level, plumb and true to line and location. Adjust
and reinforce attachments where necessary for proper installation and operation.
E. Make final installation inspection with Owner, and make final adjustments prior to acceptance.
