They return ormaintain original system capacity to save energy, eliminate coil and drain pan maintenance and odors. They ef&etivcly and efficiently kill surface and airborne microbes that grow, disburse and/or circulate in A/C systems - major causes of poor IAQ, allergies and airborne -transmitted disease. UVC has been used as a biocidal device for mom than 65 years. But until Steril-Aire developed the UVC Emittcr"% UVC use in air handling systems had not been practical. Cold and moving air decreases the output and stability of conventional UVC products. The Steril-Aire design operates efficiently at HVAC conditions of from 35 to 170" F, up to 100"/a RH and at any velocity. The patented deployment degrades the organic material on the coil that impedes heat transfer, cleaning them to "as new" for significant energy savings. Surface microbes are continuously eliminated thus coil and drain pan cleanings are no longer required, and drain pans drain without chemicals. Also, the A/C unit no longer seeds the rest of the system or space with aeroallergms of mold, bacteria or their products leaving them clean and odorless. Application Single -Ended fixtures install from the exterior of HVAC equipment, making it ideal for germicidal sites that are difficult to access such as fan coils, heat pumps, unit ventilators, terminal units or individual duct rums. Simply create a 1" tube insertion hole in the equipment wall, mount the fixture and wire as nceded. Six tube lengths (16", 20", 24", 30", 36" and 42') and two voltage options make them suitable for most small systems and at the coil where it's needed most • Continuously cleans coils, drain pans and surrounding components, keeping them "as new" for the life of the system. • Lowers coil pressure drop and returns heat exchange capacity, especially latent heat - improving comfort and energy savings. • Destroys the microbes associated with poor lA including mold, bacteria, their spores andproducts:, i.e. infectious disease microbes includingcolds flu, measles and other viruses; Legionella, TB, whooping cough and other bacteria and mold - No ozone, other gases or fumes, no secondary contamination — will not harm building occupants, equipment or furnishings. • Fast and easy to install and service with no need to open or compromise equipment — ideal for small systems or ducts. • Patented stato-ofthe-art "smart" solid state electronic power supply provides higher output, reliability and perform ncc • Up to 7 times the output of conventional UVC products in cold or moving air for fewer fixtures and higher output possibilities. • One year tube life expectancy and lowest life -cycle cost of any UVC product or other system maintenance item TESTEDAT45°F TESTED AT 6VF wren AyxxP uorra:.er sew n x0 u >m r. 100 1 60 so 40 m 0 N9 Sr ffi TESTED AT 90' F N9 254 20 N9 254. ffiI s STERIL-AIRE WC EMITTER VS. It is best that they be located at (mown growth areas such as downstream of the cooling coil and over the drain pan or where best accommodates the system. They may also be placed in a return air duct, supply duct, mixed air plenum, point of delivery or any combination thereof to suit the application. 2.2 When choosing the site, make sure that it can be supplied with the necessary power requirements, and suitable physical access for service. 2.3 Reflecting UVC energy is recommended as it enhances irradiance. Lining the UVC cavity with aluminum allows photons to bounce reducing possible shadow areas thus increasing efficacy. 2.4 Permanently installed radiometers are the recommended choice for monitoring the relative output of a sensitive or large system for lamp changeout. In general, UVC installations are sized to allow for an approximate 50°/" drop in total UVC output for mold control. Consult factory specifications for infectious disease control. 2.5 Recommended for outside use on metal surfaces only. Note: The factory provided wiring should be utilized to power from inside of a Rooftop unit or the duct to be treated. If from a Rooftop unit, it should be connected to the 'power -in" side of the fan controller (see 6.0 illustrations). For internal wiring of duct applications, consult all applicable codes before installing. 3.1 Consult all applicable codes before installing. Check fixture label(s) for the correct power requirements and supply the correct voltage from a suitable, protected (fused), and grounded power source. r r • Other voltages will void the warranty and do permanent damage to the entire unit. Futures should be operated continuously to preclude the development of mold and bacteria. 3.2 The lamp access door or panel should be interlocked with the power supply to turn lamps) off when system is opened. It should have signs (provided) in appropriate languages alerting maintenance personnel to the possible hazard of looking at or exposing skin to UVC energy. Service accesses may be equipped with a glass or Lexan@ window to view Emitters. UVC energy does not penetrate common glass or LexarP. 3.3 UVC energy may damage some plastics except for UV rated and HVAC style drain pans. Wrap suspect items with aluminum tape; use metallic conduit or use other appropriate shielding where these items may be in °line of sight' of UVC. 3.4 Determine the most desirable location for the intended use and install reflecting material. Consult local building codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) for special requirements. Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, maintenance, or use can cause fire, electrical shock, or Other conditions which may cause personal injury Or property damage. Consult a qualified installer, service agency, or your supplier for information or assistance_ In regards to the statements below, understand the signal words DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION. These words are universally used for overall safety. DANGER identifies the most serious hazards which will result in severe personal injury or death. WARNING signifies hazards, which could result in personal injury or death_ CAUTION is used to identify unsafe practices, which would result in minor personal injury or product and property damage. WARNING: Before installing Emitter and Mounting System or performing maintenance or service on fixture, turn off main power switch to unit Electrical shock can cause injury or death. There may be more than one disconnect switch. CAUTIONS: • The remote safety interlock safety must be Installed at AHU access doors/panels to ensure electrical power to the UVC Emitters is automatically disconnected any time the AHU doors/panels are opened. Maintenance personnel must ensure that the UV light is off prior to working inside the AHU. Never expose eyes or skin to UVC light from any source, as personal injury may result Wear gloves, face shield/glasses (per ANSI Z87.1) and cover all exposed skin. • Use only specified high -output, low temperature Steril-Aire Emitters with this system. Use of a lower wattage or incorrect Emitter can result In damage to fixture or Emitter and cause a loss of operational efficiency. • Voltages outside of the operating range of the unit will void the warranty and will cause permanent damage to the unit. • Emitter contains a small quantity of mercury. If an Emitter breaks, clean and dispose of with care. • UVC energy may cause damage to non- metallic components except for UV -rated and HVACstyle drain pans. Select mounting locations that prevent exposure to vulnerable components. If mounting locations are limited, such components shall be protected with UV resistant material such as aluminum foil, aluminum duct tape, metallic shields, etc. • Recommend installing a control panel to be integrated with the building management system to alert of failure and recommend maintenance of Emitters. Ensure that the Power Supply Housings have proper access for service. • Consult all applicable codes before installing. Check label(s) for the correct power requirements and supply 120 — 277 supply voltage from a suitable, protected (fused), and grounded power source. • The Air Handler access panel or door is to be interlocked at the power source to turn Emitters off when the door is opened. The door interlock safety switch shall provide power from the main circuit breaker to the power supply housing. The Air Handler should have signs (provided) in appropriate languages alerting maintenance personnel to the possible hazard of looking at or exposing skin to the UVC energy. NOTE: ENSURE THAT EMITTERS ARE INSTALLED BEFORE POWER IS APPLIED. INSTALLING EMITTERS AFTER POWER HAS BEEN APPLIED WILL TRIGGER THE "EN"F4 AMP -LIFE CIRCUT AND THE EMITTERS WILL FAIL TO LIGHT. IF THIS HAPPENS, SHUT OFF POWER FOR 10 SECONDS AND THEN TURN POWER N. EMITTERS WILL THEN LIGHT. 1 _ Install Emitters into AHU, depicted in Figure 1. 2. Mount Power Supply Housings to wall near Mounting System, See Figure 2. 3. Install the interlock switch to turn off Emitters when HVAC unit access door is opened_ 4. Wire power supplies according to local and National Electnc Codes. 5. Apply silicone (provided) to the connecting side of the female lead socket to water proof connection between each socket and its Emitter. Install a property protected disconnect for each Power Supply Housing. Install the view port (recommended) in the center of a wall panel or door, away from the panel edges or internal struts_ Ensure that the location provides an unobstructed view of the Emitters. Service accesses must be equipped with a glass view port (provided) to view Emitters without exposing eyes to UVC energy. UVC energy does not penetrate glass. An optional method to increase UVC energy onto the cooling coil is to reflect UVC energy from other portions of the plenum back onto the cooling coil and drain pan. Reflecting UVC energy onto the coaling col reduces possible shadow areas and also increases irradiance on portions of the coil already irradiated. Reflecting UVC energy back onto the cooling coil can be achieved by lining the WC energy cavity with aluminum. • Once the installation is complete, fixtures should be operated continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to keep the coil free from biofilm. Cycling Emitters by time clock or through fan operation is not recommended. 6_ Test all circuits and turn system on. A 'blue hue" will glow from Emitters indicating each fixture is working. Caution. View Emitters through view port or If inside the system, with all skin covered and use full face mask. 7. Affix the included "WARNING LABEL" and "NON STERIL-AIRE WARNING LABEL" in plain sight to the AIC unit. Protect labels against poor conditions; replace when wom. 8_ Affix the included Change Date Label, write today's date on the label and place it outside of the Power Supply Housing or onto another easily seen location near system or HVAC unit access door. Safety: All standard units are UL and CUL approved. Concealed Unit Basic Construction The basic unit includes a chassis, coil(s), fan wheel(s), fan casing(s), fan board and motor(s). Units also include non -corrosive main drain pan which is positively sloped in every plane and is insulated with closed cell insulation. Thermoplastic auxiliary drain pan is included on fan coil units with standard piping packages. Steel parts exposed to moisture are galvanized. The fan board assembly and both drain pans are easily removable. The fan board assembly includes a quick -disconnect motor plug. The chassis is the structural frame constructed of 18 gauge galvanized steel. The unit is acoustically and thermally insulated with closed cell insulation. Fan The galvanized steel fan wheels are centrifugal forward -curved and double -width. Fan wheels and housings are corrosion resistant. Fan housings are constructed of formed sheet metal. Electronically Commutated Motors (ECM) All motors are brushless DC (BLDC) electronically commutated motors (ECM) factory programmed and run tested in assembled units. The motor controller is mounted in a control box with a built in integrated user interface and LED tachometer. If adjustments are needed, motor parameters can be adjusted through momentary contact switches accessible without factory service personnel on the motor control board. Motors will soft ramp between speeds to lessen the acoustics due to sudden speed changes. Motors can be operated at three speeds or at variable speed with factory supplied or field supplied controllers. The motor will choose the highest speed if there are simultaneous or conflicting speed requests. All motors have integral overload protection with a maximum ambient operating temperature of 104.0 F and use permanently sealed ball bearings. Motors can operate at plus or minus 10 percent of rated voltage on all speed settings. Coil All water coils are burst tested at 450.00 psi (air) and leak tested at 100.00 psi (air under water). Maximum main coil working pressure is 300.00 psi. Maximum entering water temperature is 200.0 F. Tubes and U-bends are 3/8" OD copper. Fins are aluminum and are mechanically bonded to the copper tubes. Coil connections are 5/8" OD copper tubing. Coil Air Vents -Manual Manual air vents are rated at 300 psig. Coil Connections - (RH) Right hand coil connection with no interconnecting piping is provided. Coil Connections - (LH) Left hand coil connection with no interconnecting piping is provided. Electric Heat Coil The auxiliary electric heating coil is provided as the total source of heat. The electric heat coils are located in the preheat position, and are the open -wire type. The coils are a nickel chromium element design. The electric heat operates at the same voltage as the unit, and only a single power connection is necessary. All units with factory mounted electric heat are UL listed and interlocked with the fan motor switch. A call for Electric heat operation will turn the fan on. Motors controls are synchronized with fan/valve operation to ensure safe operation and that -two -modes of heat are not operating simultaneously. A transformer is supplied on any voltage unit, eliminating the need for field installation of a step-down transformer. Unit -mounted quiet magnetic relays are supplied on all voltages. A high temperature cutout with automatic reset is provided as an integral part of the elements to de -energize the electric heat in the event of a malfunction. Installation Note Unit leveling and drain line pitch: Set unit level by checking the casing. The Trane Company and the industry in general recommends a drain line pitch of 1" (25mm) drop per ten feet. WARNING: Tighten all unions when piping units. Factory tightens unions, but they may loosen during shipping. FLD = Furnished by Trane U.S. Inc. /Installed by Equipment Submittal Page 5 of 13 Others SLC Rock Road Jail Pod B-4 AHU Re' January 10, 2017 Safety Features All standard electric heat coils are UL and CUL approved. Customer control must prevent electric heat actuation without the fan being energized. CSTI - Thermostat Interface The control interface is intended to be used with a field -supplied, low -voltage thermostat or controller. The control box contains a relay board which includes a line voltage to 24-volt transformer; quiet contactors (for electric heat units); and an optional disconnect switch. All end devices are wired to a low voltage terminal block and run tested, so the only a power connection and thermostat connection is needed to commission the unit. Changeover sensors and controls are provided whenever a change over coil is selected. When NO valves are selected, inverting relays are provided for use with standard thermostats. Disconnect Switch A unit mounted, non -fused disconnect switch is available as a standard option on all units. Throwaway Filters The filter is concealed from sight and easily removable. A 1"throwaway filter is provided in the unit. Condensate Overflow Sensor This option provides an output that indicates when the auxiliary drain pan is in danger of overflowing with condensate. This condition is indicated when the float switch rises to 50% of its travel and the normally closed output opens. The float switch is factory -wired to a terminal block for connection to a field supplied controller. When wired to the CSTI, the switch does not de -energize the unit when open position occurs. This is a dry contact only and sequence of operation of unit when this condition is reached is the responsibility of the field provided controller or thermostat. FLD = Furnished by Trane U. S. Inc. /Installed by Equipment Submittal Page 8 cf 23 Others ' SLC Rock Road Jail Pod BO AHU Rf, ;ment January 10, 2017 DRIVE FEATURES — MOTOR AND DRIVE INTERACTION Constant -Torque Start The TR200 Drive's constant -torque start mode provides full torque to accelerate different loads until the drive reaches the setpoint. Breakaway current can be set up to 160% for up to 0.5 seconds for starting high friction loads. Current Limit Circuit Adjustable from 0 to 110% of the TR200 Drive's rated current (factory set at 110%). If during acceleration the current required to accelerate the load exceeds the current limit, the TR200 Drive will stop accelerating until the motor current is reduced to normal levels, at which time the load will continue to accelerate at the rate set by the acceleration time. Three -Phase Output Current Measurement The TR200 Drive's software measures output current on all three phases. Phase grounding is detected instantly. Output contactors may be repeatedly used with no damage to the drive. Multiple motors may be run from one drive. Advanced Motor Protection The TR200 Drive features integrated electronic, thermal motor protection. The VFD calculates the motor temperature based on current, frequency, and time. This system allows for changing cooling conditions as speed and load vary. The drive can predict motor overheating and reports a % of thermal load. Motor Preheat Circuit This preheat function can be activated to avoid condensation on the motor windings when it is stopped. Stall Protection The TR200 Drive provides protection against a stalled motor. When activated, this function can provide a warning or a fault condition caused by excessive motor current at low speeds. DRIVE FEATURES DC -Link Reactor A dual, 5% DC -link reactor on the positive and negative rails of the DC bus is standard equipment on the TR200 Drive. This reactor reduces the level of harmonics reflected back into the building power system without causing a voltage loss at the drive's input and reducing efficiency as an external AC line reactor would. This reactor also improves input power factor. The reactor is non -saturating (linear) to provide full harmonic filtering throughout the entire load range. In performance, the DC -link reactor is equivalent to a 5% AC line reactor. Power Line Protection Power line voltage surge protection is provided by means of input Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs). This protects the diodes in the TR200 Drive's 3-phase full wave diode bridge. The DC -link reactor also acts to reduce input current caused by power line disturbances. Sleep Mode Automatically stops the drive when speed drops below set "sleep" level for specified time. Automatically restarts when speed command exceeds set "wake" level. Saves energy and reduces wear on driven equipment. Run Permissive Circuit -Ability-to accept.a"system ready" signal assures that dampers or other auxiliary equipment are in the proper state for drive operation. This feature also provides the ability for the drive to send a "start signal applied" signal to the system to notify the auxiliary equipment of the drive's request to start. Firefighter's Override Mode Overrides all other commands to provide desired operation. Ignores most alarms including overload, overcurrent, overtemperature, and phase loss. When used with bypass, selectable to run from drive, from bypass, or switch from drive to bypass in the event of a drive failure. FLD = Furnished by Trane U.S. Inc. /Installed by Equipment Submittal Page 9 of 23 Others SLC Rock Road Jail Pod B-4 AHU Ri Acceleration / Deceleration Rates iment January 10, 2017 The TR200 Drive can provide four individually controlled sets of acceleration/deceleration rates each from 1 to 3600 seconds. The shape of these curves may be automatically contoured to prevent tripping. The TR200 shall also provide an S-Curve shaped acceleration/deceleration ramp. Plenum Rated The TR200 NEMA 1 or NEMA 12 drive is recognized by UL for installation in air handling compartments. Auto Restarts The TR200 Drive can be automatically restarted up to 20 times or infinitely at 0 to 600 second intervals. If the application causes the drive to trip more than the number of trials set, the drive will stop operating and display the fault on the display screen. A manual resetwill be required by means of the reset key, a digital input, or EIA=485 command. In cases of severe trips, as a safety feature, the drive's input power may have to be cycled to restart a fault. Carrier Frequency By using IGBTs, the TR200 Drive can employ high switching frequencies, so the motor current is practically sinusoidal. Audible motor noise can also be minimized by adjusting the switching frequency. These frequencies can be set or adjust themselves automatically to fit the application. Input Power The TR200 Drive is equipped with an automatic sustained power or phase loss circuit. The TR200 Drive will provide a full rated output with an input voltage as low as 90% of the nominal. The drive will continue to operate with reduced output with an input voltage as low as 164 volts for 208/230 volt units, 313 volts for 460 volt units, and 394 volts for 600 volt units. Automatic Motor Adaptation (AMA) Knowing motor stator resistance, the drive automatically optimizes performance and efficiency. The motor does not have to be run or decoupled from the load for the AMA setup to be performed. Automated Frequency Avoidance / Critical Frequency Lockouts For applications where it may be necessary to avoid specific frequencies due to mechanical resonance problems in the driven equipment, the TR200 Drive, with its Critical Frequency Lockout Function, makes it possible to set up to four different frequency ranges which will be avoided during operation of the drive. This feature can be programmed by simply activating the feature and pushing OK at the top and bottom points that you wish to avoid. Each critical frequency setting can avoid a frequency band which is from 1 to 100 Hz wide. If the reference signal defines that the TR200 Drive is to operate within this critical frequency range, the critical frequency lockout function will keep the drive operating continuously within this range. When the frequency reference signal rises above the critical frequency maximum limit, the TR200 Drive will allow the motor to accelerate through the critical frequency at the rate set by the acceleration rate. Automatic Energy Optimization Circuitry The Automatic Energy Optimization (AEO) function adapts the output of the drive to the specific motor and load connected. This circuit optimizes the system efficiency as system loads change. The AEO function regulates the output voltage on the basis of the reactive current and the effective current. A savings of 3 to 10% in power consumption can be obtained with this function. --------Preset Speeds— -- The TR200 Drive allows for a maximum of 16 programmable preset speeds to be selected from the digital inputs. Energy Monitoring Real energy savings are always available without the additional expense of external equipment. To control its temperature, the drive will reduce the output carrier frequency and then, if necessary, reduce the output current. Preventive Maintenance Scheduling The TR200 Drive can monitor system usage and notify the operator when preventive maintenance is required. Intelligent HVAC Controller Four auto -tuning PIDs control the drive and up to three other devices, eliminating external controllers and reducing cost. • Proportional: The proportional gain dictates the rate at which the deviation between actual and desired feedback signal is corrected. The higher the gain, the faster the response, but too high a gain can cause hunting and a large overshoot. • Integral Time: The integral time continually compares the feedback value with the desired setpoint over time to make sure the setpoint is reached. The greater the integral time, the longer it takes to actually achieve the setpoint, but improves the system stability. • Derivative: The derivative function monitors the rate at which the feedback is closing on the desired setpoint and slows the rate of approach to prevent overshooting. This function allows rapid accurate system control. Built-in Communications The TR200 Drive is fully equipped for serial communication (EIA-485). Up to 31 drives can be connected to one serial bus up to 5,000 feet long. Communicates directly with Johnson Controls Metasys (N2), Siemens Building Technologies System 600 (FLN), and Modbus RTU systems with no hardware changes or additional costs. Optional communications include BACnet MS/TP and Lon Works with the addition of an Option A card. Broken Belt, Loss of Load A minimum motor current value can be set to indicate the motor is not using any more current than to run at idle. This can be used to indicate a broken belt or coupler. This feature can also be used to detect when a motor is disconnected from the drive. FLD = Furnished by Trane U. S.
