Johns Manville (JM) conducted a site inspection on the above referenced property during a site visit on Friday, April 28,
2017.
Work to be done by Contractor:
Building 1
Contractor has installed TPO roof system at 100% of roof area.
Contractor started installation of sheet metal copings and trims but is not completed. Inspect all pop rivet locations to
insure that rivets are sealed and do not penetrate the below flashing membrane.
See below items to be addressed for completion / acceptance of roof system.
1. Install clamping band around top edge of trash chute. Apply continuous bead of JM single ply caulking around top
edge of membrane and clamping band. Tool bead of caulk to conceal the top edge of membrane and band
simultaneously.
2. Complete installation of sheet metal coping / apron flashing detail at mansard walls along with sheet metal drip edges
and trims.
3. At marked wrinkles / voids at field membrane. Cut open void / wrinkles. Apply adhesive to substrate and allow
adhesive to tack. Then depress and roll in membrane at re -work area. Heat weld patch of reinforced membrane over the
affected area. Size patch minimum of 3" beyond cuts and for aesthetic pleasing appearance.
4. Install base field membrane securement along base of knee wall at southeast corner of roof. All sides of the knee wall.
Refer to JM detail T-FW-B4 or T-FW-B5 for required detail.
5. Re -work flashing membrane at wall surface adjacent to access stairs along vertical angle transition so that membrane
is adhered to surface.
6. Install base tie in securement along elevational transition from access stair landing to main roof. Refer to JM detail T-
FW-64 or T-FW-BS for required detail.
7. Fill sealant pocket at fire - water supply line. Insure that surfaces that are to receive pourable sealant are first primed
with JM TPO primer. Fill pocket with JM one part pourable sealant.
8. Heat weld patches over marked deficiencies along seams, at patches, and around boots.
9. Heat weld t-patches at intersecting seams of reinforced membrane.
Building 2:
Contractor has installed TPO roof system at 100% of roof area.
Sheet metal trims remain to be installed.
Contractor to clean debris from roof and punch out roof.
Probe all seams for proper weld. Heat weld patches as needed at deficient areas.
Insure all corner patches and t-patches are installed.
Insure all clamping bands and sealants are applied at boots and field wrap details.
Insure all membrane is properly adhered.
1. Install clamping band and caulking at all pipe boot and field wrap flashings.
2. Install clamping band and caulking around top of flashing at trash chute.
3. Inspect wall flashings for loose or non -adhered areas. Some areas can be rolled in as adhesive is still tacky. Some
areas will require the void to be cut open, adhesive applied, membrane rolled in then a patch heat welded over the
affected areas.
4. Refer to building 1 punch list items as conditions are typical at all buildings.
Building 3:
Contractor has not commenced work on this building yet.
Building 4:
Contractor has just commenced work on this building. Contractor in process of installing Invinsa cover board at field of
roof and along walls then adhering TPO membrane accordingly.
Installed product and process noted to be acceptable at given stage of progress.
