LOCATION: 21715 Orange Ave. Fort Pierce, FL, 34945 St. Lucie County CLIENT: Verizon Wireless 4700 Exchange Ct., Suite 100 Boca Raton, FL 33431 OVERVIEW Based upon the Structural Tower Analysis performed by Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. dated August 1, 2016, it was concluded that the tower superstructure did not have adequate capacity for the proposed loading specified by Verizon Wireless under TIA-222-G standard. At the request of Verizon Wireless, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. has conducted a retrofit design analysis in order for the tower superstructure to withstand the existing and proposed loading. Refer to Tower Modification Drawings prepared by Kimley-Hom and Associates, Inc. for modification details (See Sheets 1 — 3, Project # 044048141) PURPOSE The purpose of this retrofit analysis is to reinforce the failing tower superstructure in order for it to have sufficient strength for the existing and proposed loading. Refer to the following section for details on existing/reserved and proposed loading. EXISTING / PROPOSED TOWER MOUNTED EQUIPMENT From the Structural Tower Analysis by Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. dated August 1, 2016, the following tower mounted equipment information was determined to be the final loading. However, due to half -pipes having a yield strength of 35 ksi and not 50 ksi (legs), to size the half - pipes, an area increase is required by a ratio of 50/35 = 1.43. The table below displays the selected half -pipes used to support the failing legs. Refer to the Supporting Data section for the reinforced member details. FOUNDATION ANALYSIS Based upon an analysis, the foundation was found to have adequate capacity for the existing and proposed loading. SUMMARY OF RESULTS / CONCLUSIONS Based upon the information and assumptions discussed above, our retrofit analysis shows that the listed proposed and reinforced members will provide the tower superstructure with sufficient capacity for the proposed antenna modifications specified by Verizon Wireless under the TIA-222- G standard. In addition, the foundation has the necessary capacity to resist the tower base reactions. Kimley Morn Verizon Wireless 68837 - Adam's Ranch, 300' Guyed Tower Analysis STATEMENT OF LIMITATION Kimley-Horn makes no warranties, expressed or implied in connection with this report and disclaims any liability arising from original design, material, fabrication, and erection deficiencies or the condition of the tower. The following assumptions were made in the absence of the information described in the previous section to complete the tower analysis. • The tower assembly drawing was assumed to represent as -built conditions. Kimley-Horn (KHA) was not present for general observations during construction of the tower, and, therefore, cannot verify that the tower and foundations were installed in general conformance with their original design. • Information on the tower and foundation drawings that could not be verified by KHA personnel is assumed to be correct. • KHA has assumed proper tower construction and maintenance in accordance with the applicable Building Code and the applicable ANSI TIA/EIA guidelines in affect at the time of construction. • KHA has assumed proper alignment and plumbness, correct bolt tightness, no significant damage or deterioration to any component, and the use of steel which meets the specified yield strength of the original design. No testing or inspection was done to confirm this assumption and it shall remain the responsibility of the owner of the tower to ensure that it is in good condition. In addition, we have assumed that the minimum clearances and edge distances required by AISC have been met for each connection. • KHA has not compared limitations for antenna twist, tilt, roll, or lateral displacement to actual displacements computed under service conditions. Therefore, we do not make any judgment regarding adequacy of this tower for these factors. • Tower data and antenna location and type used in this analysis are based on and are as accurate as the data fiunished. This analysis is valid only for the existing and proposed loading described in this letter. The tower must be reanalyzed if equipment mounted on the structure is different than the loading stated in the report. If any of these assumptions are not valid or have been made in error, this analysis should not be considered accurate, and KHA should be allowed to review any new information to determine its effect on the adequacy of the tower.
