Dear Mr. Laprade:
Please know I personally completed the wind load analysis for the new aluminum sliding glass door, NOA, 15-
0723.13 by Windor, Inc, Series 8100, non -impact rated doors. This suite has existing accordion type shutters.
Using the ASCE7-10. The following parameters were used:
Single vinyl sliding glass door height is less than 30 feet;
Exposure D; Wind speed 170 mph; Enclosed Structure, wind zone 5;
When taking into account the external and internal pressure coefficients and adjustments per the ASCE7-10, the
resulting and governing applied wind pressure comes to +63.5 psf / -69.1 psf for Zone 5.
With the fasteners spacing, edge distances and embedment and door installation completed per the respective
NOA, the allowable loads of+80 psf & -114 psf for this door exceeds the applied loads in this application, and
is acceptable to my office.
It is recommended that all fasteners be of high quality stainless steel.
