Building inspector comments for the St. Lucie County Jail freezer addition, permit no. 1707-0121,
dated December 7, 2017, indicate "Engineer's approval needed for overpour of slab." TLC's
acceptance is as follows:
In order to provide a level surface on which to install the outdoor freezer, a topping slab was
installed to a maximum thickness of 1-1/2" (Product: Rapid Set "Mortar We). TLC approves of
the installation of the topping slab.
To accommodate the topping slab, the freezer attachment anchor length was increased to provide
the freezer manufacturer's 1-1/4" minimum required embedment into the slab -on -grade below. 1/4"
x 6" Tapcon anchors were used in lieu of 1/4" x 4" Tapcon anchors. TLC approves of this anchor
substitution.
Please let me know if you require any additional information.
Sincerely,
