WORK INSPECTED:
Unit 501
OBSERVATIONS:
Demolition is completed.
There are (13) PT cables within the area being repaired at the southwest corner which have been locked off and spliced
with new anchors. One of the thirteen cables were found to be dead, meaning the cable was broken prior to the start of
the repairs.
Further investigation will be required to investigate and locate the break in the cable. The extent of the repairs will have
to be determined based on the location of the break.
All reinforcing is in place and coated with corrosion inhibitor.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Provide pvc chairs under the bars to provide the required concrete clearances.
2. The PT specialist to locate the break in the one broken cable.
3. Provide a 44 bar at the outer edges of the balconies at the 45 degree comers.
4. Pour the first sequence of concrete around the locks so that the cables may be stressed in sequence and the locks can
be later removed
5. Provide #4 hairpin with 12" legs around curved cable at the southwest comer of the balcony

Unit 308
OBSERVATIONS:
Demolition is completed at edge repairs. Most of the reinforcing and PT anchors have been cleaned and coated with rust
inhibitive primer. Reinforcing bar was added along the comer where the edge cracks occurred.
The existing PT cable ends were left too long and are too close to the slab edge.
No PT cables had to be locked off or spliced at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Cut all PT cable ends back closer to the anchors. Provide a greased protector cap and grout PT pockets with a high
strength non -shrink grout.
2. Adjust the added reinforcing edge bar along the corner to maintain a minimum of 1-1/2" concrete cover.
3. Coat all existing concrete surfaces with bonding agent prior to repouring concrete at repaired areas.
4. Re -pour are repaired areas with the recommended high strength repair mortar.
