Dear Sir;
The installation of metal roof panels of the subject residence is inspected by myself during
in -progress and final stages of its completion. The purpose of this letter is to verify wind
uplift forces and fastening pattern of Gulf Coast Supply "5V Crimp" metal roof panels.
The one-story residence is located in Exposure C area. The roof has hip configuration, 4/12
slope and 15 ft mean roof height. Asper 2014 Florida Building Code, ASCE 7-10, ultimate
wind velocity of 165 MPH for Risk Category II, in Exposure C area, using Wind Load Factor
of 0.6 for ASD; the wind pressures are determined as:
Field P1 = -44 psf / Perimeter (4' wide) 'P2 = -76 psf / Corner (4'x4') P3 = -112 psf.
The roof is provided with InterWrap Titanium UDL 25 (#FL11602) underlayment, tin -tagged
using 11 ga, 1114" long ring-shanked nails; spaced at 6" o.c. along 4"-wide laps and
12" o.c. two staggered rows in mid -sheets.
According to Gulf Coast Supply & Manufacturing, LLC; 24" wide, 26 ga., 5V Crimp Metal
Roof Panels (#FL11651.12-R2) the max. design uplift pressures are specified as -156.5 psf
fastened at 6" o.c., and -108.5 psf fastened at 12" o.c. over plywood deck.
The panels are fastened to existing 19/32" CDX plywood deck using #12-11/2" Woodgrip
fasteners w/ Neoprene washers, across each rib spaced at 12" o.c., in field (121) in both
directions. The perimeter (P2) and corner (P3) zones, the panels are fastened at 6" o.c.
The distance of first row of fasteners from panel edges are 3" max.
Therefore, this letter is to certify that re -nailing of existing plywood sheathing, installation of
roof underlayment, drip edge, valley metals and Gulf Coast 5V Crimp (#FL11651.12-R2)
26 ga. steel roof panels of the subject residence are completed conforming to requirements
of 2014 Florida Building Code which specifies 165 MPH ultimate wind velocity for Risk
Category II in Exposure C area.
If you have any questions regarding this matter or I may be of further assistance, please
do not hesitate to call me. •`011 111Ill.%#,
