The Roofing Underlayment installed as follows at the Standing Seam Metal Roofing locations is acceptable
Item No. 1: Roofing Underlayment attachment at the Standing Seam Metal Roofing locations:
1. Attached to the plywood roof sheathing with two staggered rows in the field of the sheet with a
maximum fastener spacing of 12" o.c. and one row at the end and side laps fastened 6" o.c..
2. Underlayment attached using plastic cap nails with a nominal cap diameter of not less than 1 ".
The minimum thickness of the outside edge of plastic caps is 0.035 inch. The cap nail shank is
0.083 inch min. for ring shank cap nails and 0.091 inch min. for smooth shank cap nails. The
cap nail shank length of 1" is sufficient to penetrate through the roof sheathing and not less
than 314 inch into the roof sheathing.
This information is being submitted for review and consideration.
