Hoying Code and Regulatory Manager SCANNED PIYGem Siding Group BY 2405 Campbell Road St. Lucie County Sidney, Ohio 45365 RE: Florida Evaluation Report, Georgia-Pacific Siding, FBC 2014 Dear Mr. Hoying; GENERAL Fax 717-846-0355 REC'EIF ED DEC 0 5 2017 Pei -RairriNG St. Lucie County, FL 13 May 2015 This Florida Evaluation Report contains all of the 21 siding products manufactured by P1yGem / Georgia-Pacific. The report is divided into 4 different siding types; vinyl siding, vertical vinyl siding, foam backed vinyl siding, and plastic (polypropolene) siding. All of the work here is in conformance with the 2014 Florida Building Code and the 2014 Florida Residential Code. VINYL SIDING The following 12 PlyGem / Georgia-Pacific vinyl siding products; Parkside, Chatham Ridge, Vision Pro, Shadow Ridge, Forest Ridge, Castle Ridge, Somerset Beaded, Compass, Tmewall Series 3800, Tmewall Series 4000, Truewall Series 4200, and Tmewall Series 4400 have been tested and analyzed in .conformance with ASTM D 3679-09 as required by Florida Building Code 2014, paragraphs 1404.9 and 1405.14; plus Florida Residential Code 2014, paragraph 703.11. Structural testing to ASTM D 5206, as required by ASTM D 3679, is reported in ICC ES report ESR-1565. For configurations, thicknesses, nail hem types, horizontal and vertical nail spacings, plus allowable design wind pressures, see table beginning on page 2. I have performed a combination of rational and comparative analyses on these products, which includes the mandatory requirements of Annex A1.2.1 in ASTM D 3679. Installation must be over 5/8" minimum nailable sheathing or %:" minimum plywood. Installation fasteners must be roofing nails with 3/8" diameter head, 1/8" diameter shank, and a minimum length of 1-1/2". The allowable design wind pressures for all of these products have been determined in a separate 7 page structural analyses titled VINYL &, PLASTIC SIDING ANALYSES FLORIDA EVALUATIONS.& 2014 FBC UPDATE. In order to achieve the pressures in the analyses, all studs must have nails in them and all nails must be in studs. Studs must be at 16" spacing. For additional installation details, see drawing titled PLYGEM / GEORGLI PACIFIC VINYL SIDING INSTALLATION, Sheet 1 of 4, attached to this report. For additional installation details see drawing titled PLYGEM / GEORGIA-PACIFIC VERTICAL VINYL SIDING INSTALLATION Sheet 2 of 4, attached to this report The allowable design wind pressures shown in the table on pages 2 and 3 of this evaluation report can be compared directly to the required wind loads in Chapter 16 of the Florida Building Code. If there are any questions about this, please contact me. FOAM BACKED VINYL SIDING The following PlyGem / Georgia-Pacific foam backed vinyl siding product; Caliber High Performance has been tested and analyzed in conformance with ASTM D 3679-09 as required by Florida Building Code 2014, paragraphs 1404.9 and 1405.14; plus Florida Residential Code 2014, paragraph 703.11. For configurations, thickness, nail types, horizontal and vertical nail spacings, plus allowable design wind pressures, see table on page 3 of this report. Structural testing to ASTM D 5206, as required by ASTM D 3679, was done at Architectural Testing, Inc.'s main laboratory located at 130 Derry Court, York, PA 17402 and is reported in 01-50924.01 (test date 04/29/04) and in 01-50924.02 ( test dates 04/29/04 and 04/30/04). The material (physical) properties testing as required in ASTM Georgia-Pacific Siding Page 5 D 3679 was done at Architectural Testing, Inc.'s main laboratory located at 130 Derry Court, York, PA 17402 as reported in project A9142.01-103-77 (test date-10/11/11). The material was also tested. to ASTM E 119 "Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials" at Southwest Research Institute located at 6220 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas in project 01-033000.01.001 (test date-01/2000). I have performed a combination of rational and comparative analyses on this product, which includes the mandatory requirements of Annex A1.2.1 in ASTM D 3679. Installation must be over 5/8" minimum nailable sheathing or ''/2" minimum plywood. Installation fasteners must be roofing nails with 3/8" diameter head, 1/8"diameter shank and a minimum length of 1-1/2". The allowable design wind pressures for this product have been determined in a separate 7 page structural analyses titled VINYL & PLASTIC SIDING ANALYSES FLORIDA EVALUATIONS & 2014 FBC UPDATE. Stud spacing must be 16", and studs must be 2 x 4 minimum. With 16" horizontal spacing, all nails must penetrate studs, and with 8" horizontal spacing, '/2 of all nails must penetrate studs. For additional installation details, see drawing titled PLYGEM / GEORGIA-PACIFIC FOAMBACKED VINYL SIDING INSTALLATION Sheet 3 of4, attached to this report. The allowable design wind pressures shown in the table on page 3 of this evaluation report can be compared directly to the required wind loads in Chapter 16 of the Florida Building Code. If there are any questions about this, please advise me.
