KSM has completed the testing of the bolt tensioning and welds. A report will be submitted when final. Kirby Building Systems provided an optional welded connection detail of the channel to the rigid columns or bolts. (See attached) OBSERVATIONS: • All metal building components are in place, which include the rigid frames, roof purlins, wall girts, flange braces and diagonal roof bracing and metal panel connections. • All column anchor bolts were found to have nuts and washers in place, and the loose nut at column G34 was corrected. • The connections of the channel to the top of the masonry walls were partially corrected. • The majority of channel girts have been welded to the steel columns. There are some connections that were bolted where the bolt holes are aligned. • There are some channel to column connections not completed and remains to be addressed. Col J23, one side bolt not in channel or welded. Col GI, G35, JI8 & J24 no bolts in the channel to channel connections at corners. • Channel girls to doorjambs at OH doors not connected. • The number of crane rails and lengths have been reduced from the permitted documents as directed by Owner. RECOMMENDATIONS: • Contractor to recheck and correct the channel connections to the top of the masonry walls and rigid frames. • Re -inspect when completed. Page 1 of 2 M L Engineering Inc. Column grid lines G&J from 1-35 This area was inspected first because the interior framing is in process and when completed will conceal much of the metal building components. KSM was on site in the process of verifying the bolt tensions at the rigid frame connections. OBSERVATIONS: • All metal building components at this area are in place, which include but are not limited to the rigid frames, roof purlins, wall girts, flange braces and diagonal roof bracing. • The fire rated metal stud wall above the masonry wall up to the underside of the metal roof deck is in place along line G from lines 18 to 24. All column anchor bolts were found to have nuts and washers in place, with the exception of Column G34 which had a loose nut at one of the anchor bolts. Some loose bolts were found at the channel girt to the top of the masonry walls. The steel channel girts at the top of the masonry walls are not bolted to the columns. RECOMMENDATIONS: • Contractor to recheck and correct the channel connections to the top of the masonry walls and rigid frames. Tighten the loose nut at the anchor bolt at column G34.
