Lucie County, Permitting Re: Window mullions for the St. Lucie Catholic Church, 280 SW Prima Vista Blvd., Port St. Lucie, Florida Issue: There has been a request for mullion back-up calculations and there is concern over the engineers mark-ups that exist on the previously certified window unit prints. Attached are the back-up calculations that show the mullions to be more than sufficient to support ,he windows and their pressures. Note that it is customary for an engineer to place hand written comments on a document prepared by others, copy that marked up document and then seal the copies. This.is acceptable by all FBP-E rules with respect to sealed documents. It is very easy to tell the difference between a signed dud sealed copied document and one that has been signed and sealed and then modified. The blue stamp and signature make it obvious that the document is the original sealed by the engineer and if the document were to be modified after the fact, it is easy to tell the difference between comments that are part of the copy and those that were penned in after being copied and sealed. Please know that the original sealed prints are those as marked up by the engineer who sealed the document (me). If there are any questions, please call.
