Luanty permitting Re: McGraw Townhouses at 10171-10173 S. Ocean Drive, Garage, Jenson Beach, FL. To Whom It May Concern: This letter is to state that the proposed tile roofing system is adequate for design wind loads on the roof. The Santafe clay S tile will be installed in accordance with Miami -Dade product approval NOA 15-0915.09. The polyset adhesive being used is ICP Adhesives & Sealants product approval FL6332-R8. The large 10" paddy is rated at 134 ft-lbs. Based on the FBC 6th edition and ASCE 7-10 for wind speed of 170 mph with an exposure category D, I calculated the design wind pressures on the components and cladding of the roofing system, to be +29.8 psf for the entire roof and -45.1 psf for the field, -75.7 psf for the perimeter and -112.9 psf for comers. The perimeter and corner pressures apply to a 5-foot wide strip in from the buildings exterior walls. The aerodynamic uplift moment on the file based on the design pressures is 9.3 ft-lbs in the field,12.9 ft-lbs around the perimeter and 17.2 ft-lbs in the comers. The design moments are well under the capacity of the system I certify to the best of my knowledge, belief and professional judgment that the described roofing system is in accordance with the Florida Building Code 6h edition, 2017. If I can be of further service, please advise. Sincerely, T.E. Lurai rE14 FL Reg.
