STEEL SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM D 19.0. ALL STEEL BOLTS TO BE 304 SERIES OR HIGHER STAINLESS STEEL. ALL SELF DRILLING SCREWS TO BE ITW BUILDEX
STAINLESS STEEL 1/4" DIAMETER.
6. CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS, FLOOR SLAB (ABOVE EXISTING SOFFIT) AND WALL CONDITIONS AT SITE BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK AND SHALL
NOTIFY THIS ENGINEER SHOULD ANY DISCREPANCIES BE FOUND THAT MIGHT ALTER THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF THESE ACCORDION SHUTTERS & SUPPORTING
FRAME BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.

CONNECTION INTO EXISTING CONCRETE WITH EXISTING REBARS OR
PRESTRESSED OR POSTENSIONED CABLES SHALL BE CAREFULLY PERFORMED SO THAT THE
EXISTING REBARS OR CABLES (AS APPLICABLE) ARE NOT DAMAGED WHEN DRIVING FASTENERS INTO EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB,

11. (a) EXISTING SOFFIT SHALL BE REMOVED AT AREAS WHERE NEW STEEL BRACKET TRUSSES WILL BE INSTALLED IN ORDER TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO HORIZONTAL
4"X8" ALUMINUM TUBE CARRYING ACCORDION SHUTTERS. THIS EXISTING SOFFIT SHALL BE RECONSTRUCTED AT THESE AREAS AFTER INSTALLATION OF ABOVE
MENTIONED STRUCTURAL MEMBERS IS COMPLETED. RECONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN OF NEW SOFFIT AREAS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE 2017 (6th EDITION)
FLORIDA BUILDING CODE DESIGN OF NEW SOFFIT AREAS TO BE RECONSTRUCTED IS NOT BY THIS OFFICE. EXISTING FRAME SUPPORT FOR SOFFIT SHALL NOT BE
REMOVED OR DAMAGED AT ANY TIME.
(b) INSTALLATION OF NEW STEEL BRACKET TRUSSES SHALL BE PERFORMED IN BETWEEN EXISTING SOFFIT METAL STUDS FRAME. SINCE EXACT LOCATION OF SOFFIT
METAL STUDS IS NOT KNOWN, BUT THEIR SPACING (16" O.C.), INSTALLATION OF NEW STEEL BRACKET TRUSSES SHALL BE PERFORMED IN SUCH A WAY THAT
MAXIMUM SPACING IN BETWEEN BRACKETS SHALL NEVER EXCEED MAXIMUM„SPACINGS INDICATED IN PLANS FOR EACH UNIT. THIS CONDITION MAY REQUIRE THE
